    janellybelly,
If you aren't dead set on GTC, Georgia Perimeter's program is 4 semesters, and you can opt to do the summer semester...if you do that the program length is about 16 months! I'm applying there because I want to start working ASAP. If you're interested, application deadline is January 30, you have to take the TEAS 5 and have A&P 1 completed. They look at your GPA for their General Program classes, your science GPA and your TEAS score. If you have any questions about it let me know
The only reason I haven't opted for GPC is because you supposedly have to show proof of immunizations (mentioned on site.) All which I had as a kid and no longer have documented. Does that still apply to people?

I signed a waiver because I couldn't get my records...I'm not sure if that will be acceptable for the nursing program though. I think you can have blood work done to confirm immunity. Are there not any requirements at Gwinnett tech? I thought that was a state wide thing

I have not seen a single college yet require such a thing except GPC. That stuff is mandatory to get when you enter grade school. Why would I or anybody need to find documentation of that now? How would someone even begin to locate that if their parents never kept that kind of paperwork?

A lot of times, the health department or school district you were at in grade school will keep the records. If not, you can get blood titers for most of them.

I graduated from North Georgia and when I went there I had to submit my immunization records...I'm pretty sure it is a requirement for the University System of Georgia...maybe the technical schools don't have the same requirements. The only difference I've seen with GPC is that you have to show proof of immunization during the application process rather than prior to enrolling.

Keep forgetting to ask, does financial aid for gwinnett cover if you take courses outside your degree requirements? Not sure where I got the idea to ask.

I'd figure in the meanwhile I'd take courses towards a bs at the same school without having to apply elsewhere to take them.

My sister in law is at Athens Tech and I am assuming Gwinnett Tech will be the same...she is taking classes that are not required so that she can maintain full time status and keep her financial aid (HOPE and Pell Grant)...she is doing Dental Hygiene and I think her last semester of the program she will run out of financial aid because it will only pay for a certain number of hours...I think it is 120 hrs for a bachelors so it may only be 60 for an associates but I'm not sure...hope that clears it up a little!

Everyone will have to download the RN health info check list that is sent to you once you have been accepted and take it to your PCP to have it filled out. MMR, Varciella, Hep, Tuberculin test and Tetanus.

There is full-time/part-time financial aid packages. I have never ever gone to school fulltime, both back in my hometown and now here at Gwinnett.

Thanks for that info! How soon after application deadline (tomorrow!) did the e-mails for the mandatory meeting go out last year?
