Moving to Atlanta

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

I'm moving down to Atlanta in a few months and have started applying for acute dialysis jobs. I have applied with fresenius, davita, and emory. I have a few questions. What hospitals do frersenius and davita run? Also what is the going rate in the market? I have 5 years experience but no clue what the market is like there. Any help would be awesome.

Most hospitals in the ATL area have their own dialysis nurses, the "big two" have their own clinics. They look at your degrees, number of years as an RN as well as certifications and if you have previous dialysis experience then look at the GA Dept of Labor for guidance. Most are going to offer $27-35/hr depending the above. As far as I know, none of them, hospitals or the "big two" offer any type of relocation experience and no hospital I know of offers dialysis training - the "big two" do offer training.

If will be easier if you already have a GA license - that can take some time - and also already living in Ga would help too..getting a job - even as a semi-experienced nurse - takes TIME in Ga because there are a ton of nurses in the area. As of 2016 the BON requires CEU's for RN's as well.

Also, Ga has a state tax as well as fed.
