Gwinnett Medical Center Nurse Residency August 2014

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hi,

I wanted to start a thread for those of us who applied to Gwinnett Residency program. I received an invitation for their new grad open house, which is required to be considered. However, I am from California. Did anyone else apply and receive the invitation?

Will attend the unit interview this Thursday

Anyone here ever got hired or know someone that did at GMC? If so, can you give me some info in regards to the hiring process and salary please?

I would really appreciate it, and thanks in advance!

The ER in Lawerenceville and Duluth has already had their interviews and offered their positions. I know this because a friend of mine went through both of the interviewing processes and it was a group interview with everyone they are interested in. As far as I know, new grads start out at $23 during your residency. Once you complete the program the pay is different...

K1048 thank you for replying. I'm starting to get nervous, because I interviewed for medical but haven't heard back. Still trying to stay positive though.

Thank you.

So I just applied to the residency program that will start February 2016. I'm reading that you are only a candidate if you get an invite to an open house from everyone's comments. Is this still true? I saw nothing on the Gwinnett website that indicated you needed a prior meeting with a staff member/nurse recruiter. Any advice or help with this or any other in for about the program would be appreciated!

I believe that is true. I just got the email today for an invite to the open house.

I also got an email yesterday. I didn't speak to anyone. I'm hoping their system is better because I'm travelling from Florida.

Same here. I'll be flying in from tampa.

I'll be flying in from Minnesota. Does anyone have insight into what the process is like after the meet and greet occurs?

I think they will ask you to come back for a one on one interview if they feel you are a good fit at the open house.

Did you guys get offered the position? I have been offered a position for their residency but no information about benefits or starting pay...does anyone know how they compare to other major hospitals in Atlanta? Thanks!
