GSU Fall 2012

U.S.A. Georgia

Not sure if there's one of these started already, but it's still pretty far off, so I thought I'd make one. Have any of you guys taken the TEAS yet? If not, where are you taking it? I didn't see any dates listed for GSU.

Sohee, I'm so sorry. I know how you feel, keep your head up but please don't give up on your dreams. Take a few days to clear your head and figure out the next best step for you.

ok, here is how the wait list goes. I've been wait list 2x..

If you get a wait list letter there is a contact person and number. Call the contact person and they will let you know where you are on the list. From my understanding they have round 30 people on the wait list. Unless you are the top 3 people your chance of getting a call is slim to none-but anything can happen. They will keep the wait list until the first day of semester. Once the semester starts the wait list is trashed and we are back to square one. They will send you a letter 2 weeks into the semester and let you know that the wait list is no longer in effect and they will give you a break down on improving your chance of getting in next time in case you decide to re-apply.

It is broken down: TEAS, GPA, Science GPA, essay, and recommendation letter.

My first letter suggested that I repeat any classes that I had a C in.

In my second letter it was suggested that I repeat any classes that I had a B in. (figure since competition is getting more fierce).

Hope this info helps.

Also- when I took Nurs 2010, my teacher told me that when they call you need to answer. They will not leave a message. If you don't answer, they go down to the next name on the list. She told me to program the school number and keep the phone on me at all times. I know this seems unreasonable but this was what I was told last summer.

Thanks kuhelski. Bad news for me, though. I'm terrible about answering my phone! I almost always miss calls because I don't have my phone physically on me at all times, or my hands are busy (I have 2 toddlers!) and I can't always pick it iup. If I get wait listed, I'd have to practically fuse the %^&* phone to my ear, LOL.:clown:

On that note, I bid you all a good night. :-)

Hey everyone!

I got my wait list letter today. I'm #4 on the wait list for ACE. But you know what? I'm feeling pretty good about actually being accepted at some point.:D I'm basically going to mentally prepare to start the program in the fall with the rest of you who were accepted. And, if for some reason I don't get in for Fall, I feel like I'd be a lock for Spring 2013. I think my GPA is what kept me from getting in this time around (3.68); this is my first semester @ GSU and I don't have any GSU science grades yet. I am expecting an "A" out of A&P I this semester, and I take A&P II over the summer. If I do well in my summer courses, that should really boost up my GPA. My TEAS was pretty good (IMO) at 90.7, so I don't plan on taking it again.

So, my summary stats:

GPA: 3.68

TEAS: 90.7

ACE decision: #4 on wait list

P.S.-- Yes, I will be SURE to answer my phone if "the call" comes this summer. I already programmed the BFLSON # into my phone with a special ringtone, LOL.:lol2:

I also got my wait list letter... I'm #9 for the traditional program... so I'm not feeling too good about my chances... :( but it's ok...

Hey, you never know Brazilian nurse...don't count out GSU just yet. Didn't you also apply to another school? Is GSU your 1st choice?

BTW, it's the only school I applied to.

Got my wait list letter again... 2nd time. I thought my stats would keep me high on the list but no, I am number 15. I have a 3.78 and 87 teas. Retaking every B this summer for a 4.0 and guarantee acceptance in the spring :(

OK, so apparently today was wait list day. C'mon all you "guest users", let us know if you've heard anything!

@hcs4291, I agree that your stats should have had you accepted, if not higher on the WL. I can't remember if you said this earlier in the thread or not, but have you thought about retaking the TEAS? I bet if you could get your score to a 90+ your chances would be better.

But really, this whole thing is a crapshoot in a lot of ways... :/

Wow. I'm in shock right now! I cant believe you guys were waitlisted...

Troop my friend got accepted to ACE but she gets to switch to traditional and that at least frees up one spot. One of my friends also declined her acceptance for traditional today too. I was hoping all of you would get accepted! :(

Well, we all move up a spot I hope....you never know.

I'm still feeling very positive for all of us.

Hi troop.. I got accepted at Mercer and GPC so far.. I did the interview at Kennesaw, so waiting to hear from them, but Kennesaw is too far for me.. and because of my little one I think if will be hard for me to go to Kennesaw.. :( but we'll see.. now I'm debating wether I should go to Mercer and get my BSN in 2 years or maybe GPC and have a slower pace and get an associates in 2 years and then either get my BSN online or do RN/MSN bridge.. advices?? The traditional program at GSU would be ideal to me.. considering price and length of the program.. but anyway.. I'm sure you will either get in this fall out of the wait list or you'll get in for sure next semester!!

Does anybody know how many people usually get called from the wait list?? I would think maybe the top 5? so.. unfortunately I'm #9 and I'm thinking my chances are low.. but now sure how many are usually called..
