Oh wow crazy I swore I heard people getting in to CSU with a TEAS in the 70s. I plan to start studying for it in plenty of time though, so hopefully I'll do well! What GPC campus do you attend?[/quote']

I've heard 70's as well for CSU!

No complaints about the campus!! There was security on campus. The campus is not far from SouthLake Mall. It's not a bad area but what area is completely safe?? Lol! It's not like Alpharetta but I think you can swing it for a couple yrs!! :) #teamdetermination

Haha yeah. I live in Suwanee now, so I've been pretty spoiled as far as ultra-safe areas go lol.

Out of curiosity (just wondering how students do it) do some work at the same time as going to nursing school to be able to afford to physically move there? Or do they find a job where they are moving? I doubt financial aid covers that much. Then again I forgot most universities also have dorms, if that's how most students do it.

It depends on individual circumstances and how far you have to move I suppose. Most people I know work during prereqs and save up, or have a spouse's income, or help from parents, or put it on a credit card. You can get loans for your living expenses as well.

Meeep I attended an info session at CSU you need to score in the high 80's to mid 90's on the Teas for admission. It to be considered for the program. Emory is an awesome school if you can get in that would be a blessing!! :) you've got plenty of time to study for the Teas. Just be sure to knock it out of the park to make yrself competitive!! :) you can do it!!

When did you attend the information session? I'm wondering if they were referring to scores when people were still taking TEAS 4...below is the ranking criteria they list on their website so I'm thinking the TEAS scores are probably a little lower than high 80s to 90s...I'm sure its very competitive like all nursing programs though!!! I looked at Bauder too but it was way out of my price range!

  • Best--3.25 GPA; 85 TEAS; one attempt at math/sciences; currently enrolled in remaining prerequisites
  • Good--3.00 GPA; 80 TEAS; limited attempts at math/sciences; two semesters remaining in prerequisites
  • Fair--2.75 GPA; 75 TEAS; multiple attempts at math/sciences; two semesters remaining in prerequisites
  • Poor--2.50 GPA; 70 TEAS; multiple attempts at math/science; several outstanding prerequisites

Thx milesamelia for yr post. As I stated mid 80's to low 90's is what they stated. It was around Oct when I attended. It's nothing like first hand information from their admission coordinators. It's fresher than, what's on the website, IMO! Like I said feel free to attend an info session for yrself they change the requirements from semester to semester. Thx again for yr post and good luck to you!! :)
