Emory University BSN/BSN 2nd Degree, Fall 2012 Applicants

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hi Everyone!

I am getting ready to apply to Emory's Fall 2012 BSN for 2nd Degree program and thought it may be helpful to start up a little forum/therapy group-ha.

If you are:

currently applying/a former applicant/a current Emory BSN student/a current BSN/MSN student, I'd love to hear from you!

Has everyone finished their pre-recs? Does anyone else have a non competitive undergrad (like me) G.P.A.? Does anyone know who is considered a competitive applicant? Where is everyone else applying?

I look forward to speaking with everyone...and hopefully entering the Fall '12 class together!

Shannon

I got the official letter today....I FINALLY believe that it's true that I have been accepted :)

....question: on the letter it didnt mention any classes I have left to take or anything....so does that mean all my pre-req has been completed?????????????

and another question:...it mentioned submitting my TEAS score so they may customize a program of study for each student such as academic support services...so what does that mean?????

Hi Crjohnson,

Congratulations. I also want to ask what is your GPA and your Teas. Mine is 3.60 and Teas score is 85%. Do you think I still have a chance to get in? I just started applying right now so I am very nervous.

Hi hellend,

I definitely think you have a chance! My undergrad GPA was a 3.78 and my TEAS score was a 90.6. I'm sure the essays and recommendations play a big part in the process, too.

Has anyone on the wait list received any information from Emory yet???

Fellow future students for Fall 2012--

First, I'm SO EXCITED! I've been a personal trainer for 5 years, and really want to join my sister and best friend as an RN. Can't wait to get started at EMORY, but I've got to MOVE! I'm coming from McLean, Virginia with my husband and we are trying to do some research on neighborhoods near the school. My sister lives in ATL, so we have some idea of what it's like down there, but I'd appreciate any recommendations you all have.

Thanks!

Kristen

KEG85, I received my waitlist letter, along with the form to fill out, but that is it... should we expect more info? I hope so...

@hellend & @crjohnson10210 or anyone who can help: I have also been accepted. I would like to know about the Math portion of the TEAS test. Is it basic math? Will I be dealing with algebra, trig, fractions and probability questions? Will I be able to use a calculator?

Hey! It was fairly basic math. The only thing I really remember not knowing were roman numerals. I don't think you can use a calculator. I didn't study at all and made a 90 so I'm sure you'll be fine! Congrats on getting accepted!! Is Emory a sure thing for you or are you waiting to hear from other programs?

thank you. This has been helpful.

Thanks, CjJohnson,

I have done everthing else except the essay which is really tough for me. I have started a week ago but still going nowhere. I don't know from where to start. Any suggestions for me, I will appreciate it a lot.

Wow, I really admire your academic achievement. I have neglected during my school year and let my gpa drop so low that it is really hard for me now in the nursing competition. I am praying and hoping some school will call my name...
