Ms. Ryan, who is the final word is on vacation. This info was from the admissions office:

The scrub warm up jacket is optional, and they'd kinda prefer that you wore a white shirt under your uniform rather than something over it to stay warm. I'm going to wait and see on this one.
Awesome!!!! Even an XS lab jacket was too big for me (and rather ugly if you ask me...)

The scrub top and pants, well, just take what they give you at the store. As long as the embroidery is right, she didn't think they'd be all that picky. I wouldn't get crazy with that though, just take what is on the list at the store so that if they do make a stink because your pants have one pocket too many or something, you have a leg to stand on, so to speak. *Sigh* I can't believe I just paid for the priveledge of wearing high waisted elastic pants!
Hmmmm....I really could not stand those pants...I'm halfway tempted to buy another type and just bring them in on the first day and if they don't like them, I'll just do an exchange...

I have to call them about the shoes, though, I'll let you all know...did you happen to catch when Mrs. Ryan was coming back? That's ok if not!

Thanks for finding all this out for us!!

Are you guys going to be using Macs or PCs for school work and/or study?
I have a PC - I KNOW that Emory's PC-compatible, and I'm relatively certain that Mac's are as well, so I'd think you'd be ok w/either...I'd check w/the nursing school, though - if they have any programs that we have to use, you'd want to make sure they'd work on either...

I see macs in the financial aid building, and a few other places I can't remember where.

Don't know when she is coming back.
Did you get the same pants as me I wonder? Mine have all these great cargo pockets, and no one will see that it comes up over my belly button since the scrub top covers it.
Be advised: thier return policy is 30 days, with receipt and all tags still attached.

All the software available to Emory affiliates. You might check out what is available for PC vs. Mac before you make your decision. I know that my PC has never given me trouble but my Mac coworkers have had some fits with network problems. Of course, I know more about fixing PCs than they seem to know about fixing Macs, so that could be all there is to it... ?

There are definitely PC's in the library - don't know about the Mac's, though - they are scattered around in various buildings, so I'd assume there's some in there...

Actually, I take that back, check here under computer availability http://infocommons.emory.edu/index.html ...looks like it's Dell-PC-dominant in the library!!

I'm a Mac user. I have an iMac at home and an iBook that travels with me. Seeing as how I just shelled out $2k for the iMac, I won't be buying another computer anytime soon. I've never had many problems though getting into school networks or running software. If need be, I just boot up VirtualPC to run software that hasn't seen the light of the goodness that is Mac. hehe ;-)

Ah, then you must be Mac compatible!

I think that >99% of the problems people have with computers are user errors, but ask them and you'll get "My computer is broken again, if only I had a --insert whatever they don't have here-- I wouldn't be having this problem!"

Intel Mac or PPC? The new Intel ones can run XP natively on another partition with bootcamp. I'm thinking of doing that. Don't know just yet.

I'm on a PPC G4. *loves on her computer* Like I said, I really don't run into too many issues.

I'll love on your ibook if you let me, haha. I got a powerhouse PC right now, dual core athlon64 2GB of RAM etc etc bla bla bla but I need a small notebook to possibly have some notes with me at school... you know, cram before a test if we happen to get doc or pdf notes, or something.

I actually just bought a Palm LifeDrive to take to school. Nice little mobile manager with 4G RAM. Going to download a bunch of reference software onto it too. I've heard it's a little hard to work with at first, but we'll see.
