Columbus Technical College?

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello..

Does has anyone from this site attended or planning to attend columbus tech's adn program in columbus, ga?

I'm currently enrolled doing my pre-reqs and I plan on applying march 2011.

So anyone have any tips?

Advice?

Interview help?:)

I'm taking it in a week or so too. I'm freaking out, as well! I'm scared that I'm going to mess up the nln or something. How long do you have to take til you can retake it?

To: jessicax221

I'm hopefully going to retake it on February 14 at 9. I took it in November so I would know what to expect and I am so glad I took it. My main part was the vocabulary, it messed me up. But I'm studying and hoping for the best.

Do you mind if I ask what your GPA is? Mine is around 3.0-3.2. I messed up a few quarters ago and got a D. So it majorly dropped my GPA. So now I have to retake that class next quarter..

How long have you been at CTC. I've been there 1year.

I actually took it in November, so I would know where I stood and that helped me alot. Are you applying March 2011?

I am trying to take it that week too!

I haven't taken it at all yet, so I'm really nervous.

Butt, I am applying in March 2011.

And, I have decent grades, I made one C last quarter and the other was a b and an a.

I just started CTC in Fall, so I'm pretty new at everything :/!

Have you taken all your prereqs? I have two more to do but they don't have to be done til the end of spring quarter. I'm just staying positive about it.

Hello! There are a lot of Jessicas in this discussion! I am a student in the ADN program just like Jessica. Advice for ya'll. Do very well on the NLN. Buy the review book, and learn it. Everything in it. The people that got accepted this semester had at least a 3.2 or higher GPA, and a 80 or better NLN score.

Try to take all pre-reqs before getting into the program. We met with the previous class when we started July 2010. They told us, "Get ready for your social life to end. You will have no life other than studying." I wish I would have listened. In the beginning it wasn't that bad. Now that we have clinicals, care plans, and exams every week..... It is just plain HARD. I have a job that I am going to have to give up Summer and Fall semesters.( WHich I am very upset about.) You will be at school 5 days a week (all day long.) I personally average 4 hours of sleep a night, Sun.- Wed. nights. This program is no joke.

The instructors on the other hand, are amazing. I love every single one of them. They really want to help you, and will stop at nothing to see you reach your full potential.

Some interview questions are just like Jessica said earlier. A few questions that they will ask you are, "Is nursing an art or a science?" "If you were to see other students cheating, what would you do?" , and maybe..."What are your support systems? Do you have a job, and if so, are you financially able to give it up for this program?"

I hope I helped someone. I will check back soon to see if I can help ya'll some more. Good luck!

I just turned in my application to this program a couple of weeks ago. Now I'm waiting for an interview date.

Im so nervous.

Hi.. bayli1 I turned in my application as well and waiting for an interview date..Good luck to all who applied.

Hey CTCStudent...hmmm, I'm trying to figure out who you are :) (By the way, this isn't Jessica, but it's not too hard to figure out who I am by my name)

Good luck to all of you who have applied! It's a GREAT program and like CTCStudent said, the instructors are all wonderful. CTC has a great reputation with the hospitals in the community and I'm very proud of our program. It's hard, but you will learn a lot. I know it's torture, but try not to go too crazy waiting on the application process :)

Hello all, I just applied for the ADN program too. Called the Health Sciences office to find out when we would be notified for an interview...I was told "late spring or early summer". Does anyone know when the actual program will start?

The summer quarter dates are 6July-12Aug (6 wks)...The fall semester dates are 22Aug-16Dec.

Just curious. I was called and given information about ADN interviews on April 11, 2011. Is it just one day of interviews or will there be another date? I cannot get in touch with anyone to confirm. Also, does CTC's ADN program only start once a year?

SRobb, I am so sorry for thinking you were another "Jessica". haha :lol2:

The program starts in July 2011, and Yes, they only accept once a year.

Please let me know if ya'll get accepted!!!! I would love to help any way that I can!

I changed my username by the way. Didn't want to make my school look bad just in case I were to make a comment that would be offensive to anyone.
