Chattahoochee Technical College Spring 2013

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

I was just wanting to see how my fellow students are doing with applying and having to wait till October to find out if we got accepted into the program starting Spring 2013.

How did everyone do on their TEAS?

Any questions or concerns?

Canton!

Canton!

I can't remember where I saw it, but there is a link for people selling books from CTC. Do you know where it is? It wasn't on the school website, but it seems I somehow linked from it.

The only place I know of is Craigslist... I already got my diet and nutrition book from Chegg. for $10. =)

Hey Everyone,

I am also a LPN candidate at Chatt Tech, I was applying for the Summer 2013 program, but due to financial situations, I will be applying for Fall 2013 instead:cry:. I will be taking Diet and Nutrition this Fall on Wed from 10:30am-12:20pm with Nancy Rawls so I hope to see some of you in class. Good luck to everyone! I wish all my future nurses the best, and I pray you all do exceptional this semester!:nurse:

I got my Diet and Nutrition book from Amazon for 20.00 used. Callie, looks like I will be seeing you and Inicole in class, my name is Erica btw. I am sooooo excited....It has been a long time coming. So far, my grades are English- A, Med Term-A, B-Computers... I have Diet and Nuitrition, Psych and A&P and Math to take. I have been reading my book, preparing for class already, lol, NERD. When you all get in the program, go on Amazon and get the "Made Easy" books, my best friend is in the program and she said they are a life saver. Pharmacology Made Easy, Medical Surgical Nursing Made Easy, etc..... I will constantly give updates about things we need to get and what will help us throughout the program, even with you all being ahead of me:). Also, I know someone who got into the summer program with just a 70 TEAS score and 3.6 GPA, so you all have nothing to worry about! Keep your heads up and lets get ready to study hard for this Nutrition class, I heard it was hard and boring....I am up for the challenge!

Thanks Erica for all the information. I'm going to check out those books. Looking forward to meeting you in class!Oh, and I feel you on the financial aid!!! Bleh.

Have you had the pleasure of taking the TEAS V?

Yeah, it puts me behind, but that is okay! I will get there soon enough. I didn't realize the actual program was only 3 semesters, so that is not bad at all! I have not taken the TEAS yet. I purchased a TEAS book and I plan to take it in Nov or Dec, hopefully I do well enough the first time because I don't want to retake it, I hate standardized test! I look forward to meeting you in class as well, I read on a site called Ratemyprofessors.com that she is a really good teacher, so we shall do fine!

Well I just found out I've met my max hrs for the program so there went my financial aid. Now I have to really scramble to find funding for next year. We just have to fight our way through! I've worked too hard to get where I am to give up.Try the McGraw Hill Nursing Entrance Exam study guide with cd. It is great, I took the Teas V twice and I used the ATI guide first. This one was so much better!

Hi Erica! Sorry it took me do long to respond. I've been on what seems like my death bed with strep throat. Horrible. I'm so glad we will have some people we know in class! I heard this class was tough too. I've read the first 2 chapters and it did not seen too bad. And I also have a sister in law who is a registered dietician so if we ever get stuck I have her on speed dial!

Nicole, I am so sorry to hear about your Financial Aid situation, but if there is a will there is a way. Never give up Hope! Financial Aid is the reason why I am in the situation I am in. My loans went into Default and in order for me to get Financial Aid again, I have to pay them off first. So, I have two children, I am a single mother and work as a CNA.....I had to pay for school out of pocket and two classes cost me nearly 800.00, so I decided to just take Diet and Nutrition and save up to take two classes in January. Does Chattahoochee Tech take student loans? If so, they have loans for Nursing students out there. Here are some links to some grants and scholarships to help you out... Best of luck!:nurse:

Callie, sorry to hear about you being ill! I hope u get better soon. I have been reading out the book from last year until mine arrives, and you are right, sounds pretty basic to me. My friend said it gets harder when we get into meal planning for patients with special diets, but other than that, it is just a lot of memorization. This class use to be the first nursing class in the program and when they switched to semesters, they took it out and made it a pre req...so it gives us a little feel of how the program will be. Good looking on the sister-in-law, I have a friend that is a RN and said she will help out too!
