Seems like the waitlist is moving. Last week, I know for certain of a couple of people on the top portion of the list who have confirmed their acceptance to other nursing programs.
So I wonder will they send out a few acceptance letters in March???

The department secretary confirmed on 140 spots this year, as opposed to the usual 160 last year. They've received around 700 applications this year, as well. She wouldn't say on how many of us are on the waitlist, though.

The next wave of letters will be sent out by May 15th, but earlier if the department gets a good number of vacated spots.

Hmmmm.... Wonder why they dropped the amount of spots for the program?

Heard it was due to faculty shortage.

Probably is due to faculty shortage. A couple of other nursing programs are doing the same

The lower accepted amount has nothing to do with faculty. There is no faculty cuts. I heard it is due to possibly phasing out the ASN program.

Yes, two other people have told me that, but I haven't confirmed it with the department. In any case, I hope that we'll be grandfathered into the BSN program once we get accepted.

Well that's something new. Wonder if they are phasing it out bc of the university consolidation?
