Admission/Acceptance to Georgia Regents/Georgia Health Sciences

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello! I just joined and couldn't find any other thread that had anything about admission stats or anything for Georgia Regents (formerly Georgia Health Sciences) and I am so nervous about getting into the BSN program, I applied with my first choice in Athens, and second as Augusta.. I have a 3.7 and got an 86 on the TEAS V and was wondering if anyone knew if that was competitive or what your stats were?!

HELLPPPPPPP :nailbiting:

You don't think it will come sooner?

I'm sorry. I see now where you can register for all of the classes from that site.

Yeah, I think I'm going to sign up for classroom instruction. I prefer hands-on instruction anyway. I figure I could do it in June or something. I'm afraid I'll forget it all by August if I do it now! Haha

My status didn't change to ready for review until a week before the deadline. I had to wait for my lor's to be sent. They reiterated in the web seminar that they process things in the order in which they're received. It didn't change to decision made before the website's maintenance this week and there's only a week before spring break after this week, so I'm not expecting anything until mid to late April or even early May.

Well I hope it comes sooner!

Side note to this: AHA requires that you have hands on for certification!

Thanks for the info!

For those that are going to the augusta campus, does anyone know where to find good places to live near campus? I am 21 years old so I would like to rent, but I would also be interested in finding other students for roommates!

Also if you got into athens, what was your gpa/teas score? I had a 3.97 and got 99th percentile, so I am still curious as to why I didn't get into Athens, since I put Athens only???

Thanks for everyone's insight in advance!

Hey, I'm moving in May so my husband and I went apartment hunting. A place that I found, but may not be that close to downtown is called Avalon Apartments on Wrightsboro Rd. It's probably15- 20 minutes away from the downtown campus. Unfortunately I don't really know of any other places. ATC Development is the company that manages it and they have several properties. We went with their apartments in Grovetown (30 minutes away) because my husband works at Ft. Gordon. I also looked at apartment guide online.

Hope this helps!

There aren't many apartment complexes downtown. How far are you wanting to travel to classes?

Most apartment complexes off and around Washington Road near downtown are decent. Enterprise Mill is nice, but its not inexpensive. There are a lot of historical houses that are set up like apartments for you to rent, but those you'll have to search online. A lot aren't included in the apartment rental books. You may want to look around Augusta State's campus (GRU's Summerville campus) at the houses and apartments nearby that are for rent, but again, it may be best to do an online search or actually visit campus and look at the postings for apartments and roommates and what. I also recommend looking in North Augusta for apartments. There are many apartments in Augusta, but most aren't located downtown. Good luck with your search!

I got into Athens with a 3.47 and an 82% on the TEAS. I applied for Athens only as well. I can tell you that during the information session they did mention that they would take into consideration that some have families and cannot necessarily move to attend Augusta. I mentioned my family in my essay so maybe that made a difference.

I am sorry you didn't get your preference but I hope that everything works out for you!
