Will there be a shortage of Nurses in Atlanta again?

by gcupid

Is it me or is Atlanta saturated with Registered Nurses? About 10 years ago there was a huge shortage if I'm not mistaken...

Will there be a shortage of nurses in Atlanta again? and if so, when do you predict...

and also, I talked with a nurse recruiter & she said about 2-3 years ago, all you had to do was show your license and the hospital would hire you on the spot with bonuses...

What is going On? Is the Economy improving in ATlanta (people are still getting sick)?

I just started orientation today at a new hospital amd and three people including myself raised thier hands when asked who was from Georgia. A lot of people are traveling from other states for jobs here.

I graduated 3 yrs ago and could pretty much get a job at any hospital. Now it's affecting everyone because people are getting laid off and have no insurance but they still get sick. They go to the hospital but the hospital can't get paid because there's no insurance. Also a lot of people who have left nursing come back because they lost their job in their new profession!
