Your first semester will require one day for 2 nursing classes (usually from 8-2 or so) and you will have clinicals for Fundamentals once a week through out the semester and clinicals once a week for 1/2 the semester or 6 weeks for Psych. So for 1/2 the semester you will have class/clinicals 3 days a week and the other 1/2 of the semester you will only have it 2 days a week. Hope this helps.

So, in all, the first semster is just 2 or 3 days a week? I thought you had to go everyday. I teach school right now and I am going to have to tell them I can't come back after Christmas. Do people work during the 1st semester or is it too hard? I am REALLy nervous bc I have heard MSC ASN program is SOOOO hard :/ Is school ever 5 days a week...and how late do you remember having to be at school? THANKS!

All semesters are only 2-3 days except the last semester when you do your hospital practicum (36hrs/week in hospital precepting and 1 day a week class). Some people are able to work the 1st semester and manage it while others find it more difficult. I did not work the 1st semster. I started externing the 2nd semester of nursing school. The 1st semester is a big adjustment. Its very different from other classes/degree. But it is definitely doable. Good luck! Sending positive thoughts your way :-)

I just graduated in May from MSC nursing program and school was Never 5 days a week. Unless something has changed in the program you will only have school 2-3 days a week, depending on when you have clinicals for Mental Health. Some of my classmates worked throughoour the program, but I didn't work until out last semester because I have two children (a 6 yr old and a 2 yr old) which were 4 yrs old and 2 months when I started the program. Nursing is hard no matter where you get your degree from so don't worry about the horror stories. If you got in the program just work hard and you will succeed.

Thank you for answering my questions. One more...for the time being .... I just read a post that said the Spring chort goes straight through, no summers off? Do you know if this is true. I was planning on taking Micro at GMS during the summer. :/

In the past it was straight through: spring, summer, fall, spring, summer (for Macon students) and spring, fall, spring, fall (for WR students). Not sure what it is now. Try going up to the school or calling the nursing office to find out.

Hello Everyone!

I am new to this site. Hopefully, I am posting right. First, I would like to say congrats to everyone that is starting Macon State WR campus in the Spring 2010 .

Can anyone tell me how are clinicals and where they are held. I am very nervous about the program, but more so excited. I've been waiting for this a long time and I'm finally here .
