LPN JOBS and PAY in metro Atlanta???PLEASE HELP!

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question about $$, but in North GA, there is always room for a good LPN. I cannot imagine that Atlanta would be any different.
BTW, I know this isn't very helpful, but I didn't want you to continue to think that GA nurses don't respond on this board.

I haven't seen that many LPN jobs out there for Hospitals. Well I've been looking around because I plan to take my boards soon. So I've started my research and I have came across some at Emory and St. Joseph's Hospital and if I'm not mistaking some at Scottish rgt. Hope this help..

Try the smaller towns in a radius of 50 miles around Atlanta - they hire LPN's all the time. Starting pay is good - esp for a new grad. Most of the time, they are mor willing to teach you new skills and can be a "gold mine" of possibilities for advancement.

I moved from Georgia to Indiana, to finish nursing school because I have a great support system. Upon grad. I will be returning to Georgia, specifically the Atlanta area. There are some hospitals in the are that are currently hiring LPN's. Try Northside Hospital, it had a couple LPN positions. Also, Emory had some pain clinic openings, and Tanner had several LPN positions. There are west of Atlanta towards BHAM. But from ATL metro, its about a 35 minute drive. Are there still LPNs looking for work? Or did anyone find places? I know of a place hiring LPNs for some non clinical work.

There very very few jobs as an lpn in atlanta, the jobs you see advertised, like northside have been on there web for longer than a year, and there is a position that dekalb medical center has been advertising for an lpn in the E.R since last year. i lost every thing in atlanta trying to find work , house ,car etc.. i was working for an agency in a hospital fulltime on MED/SURG, PCU and ICU and the company went bankrupt, I had to move to miami were I don't work as hard as i did in atlanta and bring home about 7000.00 a month taking care of one 11 year old child! I know how you feel i wish someone would have told me the real deal about atlanta and LPN's. now don't get me wrong it's a great place for RN's, espiecally if your a hustler, i'm currently enrolled in excelsior college and have been knocking tests out of the way like crazy, i'll move back to atlanta AFTER I finish school because miami has a lot of work but to live down here stinks the crime is off the charts and the school system sucks. anyway hope this helps.

You shouldn't have any trouble at all finding a LTC position as an LPN in the Atlanta area or surrounding areas. As for hospitals, you need to actually show up in person, place your resume in someone's hands, and speak to someone directly. Be aggressive, and find out who you need to speak to. I've heard that as a new grad, if you just email or send your resume in, it will get lost in the shuffle especially with no experience. You need to be proactive. I'm a new grad, and there were a couple of girls from the previous graduating class that sent their resumes to Northside Forsyth several times and didn't hear from anyone. Frustrated, they drove to the hospital, with resume in hand, and knocked on the door of the Director of Nursing, and spoke directly with that person. They were offered positions on the spot, and both now work on the Med/Surg unit at Northside Forsyth making $18.00 per hour plus shift differential. Granted, it's graveyard shift, but as a new grad, you need to take what you can get, stick it out for a year, and then reevaluate. Remember, nurses are in high demand! They NEED you. You just have to be aggressive in your search. Also, a clinical instructor told me that just because the job advertises experience only, doesn't mean that you shouldn't apply. Go to the hospital and speak to someone directly in person. Physically place your resume in their hands.
