Emory's Accelerated BSN/MSN

by T-Dasha

Does anyone know any specifics about Emory's new accelerated program? I just got on the website yesterday and saw that this summer they will be launching an accelerated BSN/MSN program, with the BSN portion only taking 1 year now instead of 2 years. Does anyone know if this program will be harder to get into than the regular BSN/MSN Segue? And will the same types of scholarships be available for this program...ie:Fuld Fellowship?

This sounds like the program of my dreams, only Emory is super expensive. I wonder if we can get financial aid as a graduate student, or will it be for undergrad that first year. Let us know when you find out information about the program.

Hi, I just visited Emory's website and thought I should post this link for anyone interested. http://www.nursing.emory.edu/nursing...elerated.shtml The program is also for applicants with a degree.

Oh wow. When did they bust up with this? I know it wasn't there earlier this month. Thanks for posting - I can change my program choice to this one, which would be so much better.

I know they have scholarships for the MSN program and for the BSN program, so I'm guessing they'll have some for this as well.

MCG is offering a M.S.N degree for people with a Bachelor's in another field than nursing. Valdosta State has a 14 month BSN program as well.

I wish they had a program like this for people with Associate degrees or no previous degree. I have an Associate in education and due to changing my major I have almost the amount of credits most people have when they graduate with a bachelor degree. I wish I could jump into a program full speed like that!

Well Georgia State has an accelerated BSN. You may want to look into that. Their program doesn't require a previous degree.

I actually applied to the BSN/MSN segue program. When I saw the accelerated program, I asked to have my application considered for the accelerated program. It appears that the way they are accelerating the BSN portion is by holding classes during the summer. It still takes four semesters.

Is anyone else applying?
