It didn't say when to apply and I don't know where to get one. A girl from one of my classes forwarded it to me...she says she got it from the school, so I bet the best thing to do is probably contact the admissions office and ask who is handling all the nursing stuff. Sorry I'm not more help!

Hey all!

PreRNKatie:

I'm currently at Chatt Tech too. Due to the flyer I have there isn't a deadline for the RN prgm because the admissions process hasn't been finalized yet. The flyer says to contact D. Hodges at the Mtta Campus w/ any questions.

Hope this helps...

How does Chattahoochee Tech calculate pre-reqs? Do they average multiple attempts in a course?

Okay, I have a question, need a positive answer. What are the tests they give you when you enter the LPN program at Chattahoochee tech? My girlfriend just got a DUI on sleeping medication she is falling apart, and in the same classes as me.I mean, this is a misdimeanor, not a felony. She wants to drop out completely. I told her not to. She has a 4.0 GPA and only one pre-req to go before she is done for the LPN program. Does anyone know if they do a background check just to enter the LPN program, because she got probation for the DUI, but its her first one, so in Georgia, with the first time offender, it will be removed from her record. But she is worried that she wont get into the LPN program being on probation. By the time she is through with the LPN schooling the probation will be done, and the DUI will be off her record, so she is okay right? I hate to see her just dump all the hard work. After all it was sleeping mediation for Gosh sakes, the poor girl was shafted I think.........too bad.

She needs to talk to her lawyer and the administrators at the nursing program to find out if they run a background check or not, or if it would even be an issue. Hopefully she won't just drop everything before she even finds out. I hope everything turns out alright for her and I'll keep my fingers crossed!

GaMommy81,
I just asked an advisor this question on yesterday. If you retake a class to get a higher grade then the two grades are averaged together. For example: Math 191 1st attempt Grade C = 2.0 gpa
Math 191 2nd attempt Grade A = 4.0 gpa
So...
2.0
+ 4.0
_______
6.0/2=3.0

Which means your new Math 191 gpa is a 3.0 or B average I hope this makes sense.

Yes, but She needs to know exactly what tests does chattahoochee tech run before entering the LPN program? I think there is a physical, dental, I know there is a entrance exam, we all know that, but is there an actual background check just for getting into the LPN school? Because by the time she is through with the school all this will be off the record, at least in time for the boards. Who here has actually been through the LPN school at Chatt, or is currently enrolled, or knows someone who is? please share !

I don't think most nursing programs run background checks. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. The problem she might run into is being placed in clinicals or getting your nursing license. There are quite a few people in my BSN program who have DUI's, and they have not had any problems getting placed. The president of GA BON came and talked to our class the other day, and told us that DUI's would most likely not be a problem when we applied for our nursing license. No one can say for sure if she'll have any trouble, but I think she probably won't. They look for really bad things on background checks. Also, ask Chattahoochee what drugs are students not allowed to take while doing clinicals. The hospitals have you do drug tests, and I don't know if her sleeping pills would be a problem. Good luck!
