Finally...I finally got my advisor to contact me. In fact, I had 2 people call me today from Chat Tech. Mass emails do work wonders! I sent out yet another email, but this time sent it to about 10 or so different people, including all the advisors and registrar people whose contact info I could find on the website. Gotta love search engines! My advisor says I HAVE to go to a 30-min advisor meeting, at which I'll be registered for classes. I asked if the meeting could be held over the phone or if I could go ahead and register then have the advisement, but she said no can do. My appt is Thurs morning so with luck I'll be registered by the end of the week. I'm ready to get this ball rolling!

I'm so glad you were able to get in contact with someone. I just wanted to let you know that when I had my appointment with an advisor at Chatt Tech she was really rude and tried to talk me out of taking A&P because only "the cream of the crop" make it into nursing school. I don't know what her problem was, but if someone says something like that to you, don't let it bother you!! Congrats on starting, and good luck!!!

Oh my, that's awful that an advisor would say something like that to anyone, let alone a student. But don't worry, I'm definitely not the type to listen to naysayers :-)

Hi Jennie, I was told the same thing, that everybody wants to go into nursing nowadays, and on the 1st day of AP 1 the teacher clearly told us that his job as a teacher in that class was to "weed us out"...and guess what we survived and made it to NS...BTW what school do you go to?

Does anybody know if Chatt. Tech has a Microbio class? I am scrambling to find a place to take it in the fall. I keep trying to check the course offerings on the website but it won't pull anything up (for any subject, not just bio). Thanks!

Hi Rwan, I'm starting Georgia State's accelerated program in August. Where do you go? That's exactly what I wanted to go tell that advisor, look at me now! Oh well.

Katie - yes, Chatt Tech does have Micro. It's Bio 197. The teacher for that class is wonderful!! You'd love him! I checked out the website and something is messed up with the class schedule. They might've just posted it and are having some problems with it. I'd give it a few days, and then call if you still can't get into it.

I'm finally all set up for my class this summer. I wanted to take A&P I but all of those classes are filled. I'm checking the site every day to see if a space opens up but from what I've heard chances of that are slim. Chem I was also full and chances of getting into that are supposedly slim too. So instead I've signed up for Psychology 191, which I need in order to get into 192 Human Growth and Development, which I've noticed is a prereq for some programs. Luckily I had a nice advisor. She was very helpful and didn't try to steer me away from nursing.

p412--The advisor said they're still waiting on approval for the ADN-RN program, but they plan to have their first class begin in Summer 2009 (I think, but don't quote me. I remember it's definitely next yr sometime.) I don't have any application deadline info yet but as soon as I hear something I'll try and remember to post it here.
