Thank you Emile. Please let us know what the deal is. Ask about the point system if you can. Yes skeeton21 I am applying for Spring 2010. I took my sciences at Clayton State and received my first degree from Clayton State. I made an 87 on the TEAS. 81 is good! I wouldn't worry about it. Good luck everyone!

Thanks! I hope it is good enough to get me in the door! I have not taken the CLEP test yet. I am printing up some study materials now that I can use to refresh my memory. I think I may take it within the next month or so.

HI Guys,

Sorry I was in such a hurry I forgot to post the time it was at 2. Well this was another situation where everyone decided to stay mum...They refused to make absolutely any reference to the admission process. the They only focused on GCANS which is the Gordon College Association of Nursing. They were basically trying to recruit students to join, sign up for blood drives, buy T-shirts, participate in fund raising and volunteering events. They said it could ,not guaranteed, work in your favor during the admissions process especially for those who have no nursing experience.I was somewhat disappointed. It's like they want you to do all these things but won't even give you a clue about anything.Personally , this association is more beneficial once accepted into the program not as a pre nursing student.

Oh my goodness! I agree Emile that it sounded like a waste of time. When I went to GPC's info session, they at least told you the scores you needed to be competitive as well as Georgia Baptist. What is the point of signing up with GCANS if you don't even know if you will get into the program? You are supposed to volunteer for blood drives and all of that other jazz, but if you don't get into the program it seems like kind of a moot point, especially if you have to drive a long distance. I just don't know about Gordon College. They make me so sad. I guess we will still have to just wait.

I am applying for the nursing program for the Spring as well! And it is extremely irritating that no one will give us any answers. (Sorry I need to vent about this):

So funny story. I am a transfer student and I had to go to orientation this past August because I am taking 2 classes this fall. Well I went to orientation and one of the instructors said "You can take the TEAS as many times as you want to...as long as it is prior to the application deadline". Ok so I thought man that is great. I went down stairs to sign up for the TEAS. They had a test for July 16 (exactly one week from the orientation) and August 5. So I thought that I could just give it a try on the 16th and I will reschedule another time to take it on the 5th. I assumed I would do bad because I had exactly 7 days to study but I was working every single day up until the test. I did not study at all and I made a 71.2. Well afterwards I go to the nursing department to sign up to retest on August 5 and actually study. The woman was like Oh well after you take it once you cant take it again until next semester. I told her about orientation and what they had said there. Well he was talking to freshman saying that they can take the test as many times until time for applying.

And they were making a 71 sound great. She said that anything above a 70 is really good. She said that because I have A's in both of my anatomy classes that I SHOULD get in. But then I asked about the whole point system and that was that. It is just a point system and they would not explain how things are evaluated.

Anyways sorry about the venting it just upset me that they were not very clear.

I can definitely understand how you feel. All of the information that they give is so vague and general. I think that they could make things a lot easier on themselves if they would post the information that everyone wants to know on their website instead of trying to be so secretive about everything. It is great that you have A's in your Anatomy classes so that will definitely give you an advantage. I wouldn't worry too much about your TEAS score. I think that because they are on a point system, if an applicant is weak in one area, there are other areas that will make them a stronger candidate. I will be so happy when the waiting process is over! Good luck to you and everyone else applying. Always feel free to vent about your frustrations, because believe me, they are shared. Have a great weekend!

Ok, listen up! Since I'm already in the program this fall, I can be an inside source for you. I used to come on here allllllll the time to checkup and see if I could help some of you out with questions etc. but the work load has me going in EVERY POSSIBLE DIRECTION!!! LOL. But anyway, as of last week, we ordered out uniforms *yippee!!!* lol and we're ordering our name badges this week. Our uniforms will be here next week and Clinicals start the 2nd week in October...scary lol. None of us know where we're going as of yet, but we'll know here soon. I'm gonna try my best and log on here a lil more often to see if I can help you all out some more. *sigh* Time to get ready for another week....lol

Hi phrozenone!

I can only imagine how hectic things have been for you. Have you had your first big test yet? Thank you for letting us know how things are going in the program and being an inside source. I hope that things continue to go well for you. Let us know if you hear anything about the upcoming class and admissions process. Happy studying!
