Yes this helps a lot. I hope that we will get another letter telling us that we can go ahead and come on in.

mj1215,

What is the name of the person in charge of admissions decisions? I would like to contact them about where I am on the waiting list. Thank you.

GAMommy,

Sorry just getting back to you. Her name is Ms. Joan Cranford, but let me warn you her administrative assistant is not easy to get past...just a head's up. Good luck on what you find out, and let me know if anything she tells you is different than what was told to me. Thank you.

Just wanted to let you all know that got put on the waitlist don't give up yet. I graduated from Gordon's nursing program in 2005 and I was put on the waitlist. I had given up hope and had decided that I was going to spend the next year doing all my core for my BSN but 2 weeks before the semester began, I got a call from the nursing program and a seat was available!! I couldn't believe it. If I remember correctly 12 seats became available then. Keep hope up everyone. Good luck!!

Thanks for the encouragement Mommyof3. I am hoping that I will get in. According to the registration website, as of now there are still 31 spots that have not been filled. I don't know if accepted students have a time slot to register that extends through November 20th, or if the accepted people could just go ahead and register now. If anybody knows how that works, this information would be greatly appreciated. Has anyone been accepted that was not a current student at Gordon? If so, when is the earliest that you can register for your classes. I am just trying to get a feel for how my slots are actually left. Thanks everybody!

Yeah thanks Mommyof3 for the encouraging words, trying to keep hope alive, just not get my hopes up to high!
GAMommy, to answer your questions, they didn't take anyone who was not a currently enrolled or previously enrolled student at Gordon. They took no transfer students at all, so all the ones that were accepted were either currently enrolled Gordon students or readmitted Gordon students. That is probably why you are on the waiting list because you were transfer, that is what worked against me too. So I would think that all the people who were accepted should have applied by now or will soon, since none are new new students. Hope this helps, at least that is what the lady in charge told me. BTW- find anything out from her when you called? Keep ur spirits up we may still have a chance, but it may be last minute....whenever is fine with me!

I just talked to the secretary and she said that there are 4-5 people on the waiting list. That is what she said last time, but according to this board, there are more people than that on the list. She said that there is no ranking order for the waiting list. She told me that I had 27 points, which was a good amount of points, but since they didn't take any transfer students, I guess that aspect worked against me. Then she went on about how only two people withdrew this past semester (something about an emergency surgery and a family emergency), but to me that sounds like people who withdrew during the course of the program, not before the classes started. She didn't tell me anything about how the current people have until November 19th to accept or decline. Can anyone who has been accepted confirm this information because I am little confused. The secretary just said that we may not know until January. Argh! This is so frustrating!!!

GAMommy,

That is even better with 4-5 people on the list, sounds like our odds are getting better and better. Well I am not sure that I would put to much weight in what the secretary has to say...I got my info. straight from the woman in charge of making the decisions. But yes, I too have heard that you can find out right before the semester starts so yes, it could be January.

Yeah I don't know how much stock I am taking in what she told me because she said that four to five people were on the list the last time I talked to her. I guess Gordon is just loyal to the folks that are already there. Didn't you say the point cut off was 23. If I have 27 points it would seem like it wouldn't matter that I am a transfer. If I had known that they only take their own I would have taken my classes there. Man! Oh the waiting!

According to a faculty member at Gordon, the accepted students have until November 13th, this Friday, to accept or decline his or her spot in the program. This could be good news for those of us on the waiting list. Hopefully we will all have a chance to get in. Good luck everybody!
