Stephany, I am STRESSED! I am working on my very first care plan & will have my second clinical day on Thursday. I also have my third exam this week & have a ton of skill checks to pass (NG tobes, catheter care, colostomy bags, etc.) I have to work on my clinical journal too! Golly! nursing is unlike any other major! A degree doesn't seem like enough now, they should give us diamonds! Just for making it to graduation & my 11 yr old asked my why I have to learn all of this since all nurses do is help the Dr.!!!!!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrr! She's young, so I let it slide!!!

    Thanks for letting me vent

    Lisa,

I know what you mean about your daughter's comment. Last year when mine was in preschool they had a careerday theme for the week and brought in the stethoscope, latex gloves, bandaids and such and set it up as a "doctor." Now i cannot get ready for clinicals in the morning without my 5yr old telling me that i shouldn't have the "Doctor's thingy" (stethoscope) around my neck.

I too am counting the days till thanksgiving break, and GRADUATION!!!!!
