Does anyone know if having a 504 accomedation plan in high school will keep you from getting into a nursing school? It says that i can have extended time on tests(even SAT's) and things like that. will a college or nursing program see thaton my transcript and immediatly dismiss my aplication? thanks.

There are people in my nursing program who need special accommodations for tests and as far as I know, its not been a problem. Talk to the college and find out. I don't think they are allowed to dismiss your application for something like that.

Hi
I know here in Australia, it does not make a difference, i have a good friend who has dyslexia, and she gets heaps of extra help (notes from the labs as she can't write the notes from the board fast enough ect.)
Whenever we have exams there is an extra room set aside for the people who need extra time, we had a 3 hour nursing exam on wednesday and they had an extra hour to do their exams in.
As this is a different country I don't know if this helps, but hopefully they do the same thing over there.
Good luck

We have a place on campus that people with accomodation go to take the test. My school really pushes getting tested if you think you may have a problem with test taking. A lot of people have mild dyslexia and don't know about it.
I don't think you have to put it on your application anyway. My school didn't look at my high school transcripts, just my high school diploma.

at some schools if you need accomodations you have to ask for them before the beginning of the course other wise they will not let you have any. and where I go you have to have paperwork or something to prove you need the accomodations.
