I was just wondering how many were starting an ADN program this fall. What are your dreams? Mine is to graduate after that, maybe to work in long term care or hospice. I might like peds too. So many choices.

Specializes in LDRP.

I am starting my pre reqs this fall. I am taking Psyche, BIO, Spch, then in the spring A&P, Micro, History, and Chemistry in the summer. Then onto clinicals.

I want to work in Obstetrics...my mom is an RN and worked OBGYN and NICU throughout her career and I guess Iam following in her footsteps. I just have a passion for it and read everything I can get my hands on. Anyway, thats my dream job!

Good luck to you,

Amy

I just received my acceptance letter, I was accepted a semester early and will be starting this fall also. I am very excited and a little nervous. I put my schedule together and am astounded, eight hours of clinical, lab, 3 lectures & micro + lab, not to mention pharmacology this summer. I hope to work in L&D, continue my education and persue midwifery. The next four semesters are sure to be very rewarding! I look forward to the challange. Good Luck!

I'm in Las Vegas and starting the ADN program in September. I'll be taking Pharmacology during the summer -- begins next week! Unfortunately, I'll miss the first week due to business travel to Tucson... Oh well  Good thing I read ahead! Our orientation session is scheduled for July 18th and I can't wait! :D Oh, my dream is to be in the ER!

Happy summer!!

I'm starting in the fall too. I'm so excited. I just got my acceptance letter in the mail this past Saturday! I just heaved a sigh of relief. It was absolute torture waiting and wondering. But finally all my hard work has paid off and I got in! Now I just have to get through the physical and titers at the health dept. and I'll be set to go when school starts in August!

Well, it is official :)

I start prereq's Sept. 3rd:

Algebra/Math095

Biol101

Engl101/Academic Writing

Pysc103

Was wondering if I should try to add one more class?

I have been out of school since 1979

Anyone with more experience than myself, input would be appreciated.

I will continue to work for the post office, but only on Saturdays and college breaks, so that shouldn't interfere (sp) with studies much at all.

Husband and most of my children are supportive .

Once I graduate and pass the NCLEX, I am hoping to work on med-surg, for experience, then I want to go into pediatric oncology. Syracuse has a wonderful hospital, and I am hoping to get in there at some point.

Rhona 1 - I was wondering if you were in the NYC/LI area where you are starting your Associates Program? I'm currently trying to decide between Nassau C.C. and Queensborough C.C. and am trying to find anyone else that knows about these two schools :)

ME ME ME!

Long awaited much anticipated!

I start the ADN program in the Fall. WOOHOO!

My first goal...I have already accomplished, and that is to land a job as a CNA. I start training for that in a week. My other goals are to kick booty and do well in my Nursing courses. After my first rotation of med-surg I plan on applying for a student nurse position. Then I hope to continue doing well in my 2nd year, graduate, and land a job in the ER(?) this may change. If all goes well, I will continue my education & get my BSN (personal fullfillment).

Good luck to all! Keep up the good work! Stay focused!
