Who has been having a run of good luck?

  1. Hi Everyone

I have been having a run of really good luck lately. The first thing that happened was I got offered a nurse externship this summer at a hospital.. I am very excited because I will be working in a very busy E.R. for 5 weeks in a level 1 trauma center, and then 5 weeks on a trauma unit. I just put my notice into my current employer and it was a great feeling, mainly because they treat me like crap there.

Then I got my graded careplan back and recieved 30 out of 30 points on it. Finally on my nursing exam last week, I got a 92%. This has been my highest grade so far and I am so proud. I'm just waiting for something really bad to happen since I have been having all of this good luck lately so I am enjoying it while it lasts.

Has anyone else had a good turn of events lately? I thought with finals comming up we could share some positive things.

Take credit where credit is due. It isn't luck... you MADE those things happen. Maybe you didn't make yourself be accepted into the externship, but you applied, you have done well in school, you presented yourself well. The care plan and test score are ALL YOU, baby. Wear the good "luck" proudly! ((hugs))

May not sound like much, but I got 2 basement rooms rearranged to facilitate painting, AND sewed a baby blanket from scratch this weekend... in addition to running errands, cleaning the house, and spending time with the family. I haven't had a weekend this good in a long time! YAY!

    Super!! Congratulations!

I don't think luck plays into it - you EARNED everything you have. Grades don't fall into your lap, and getting the externship comes with a lot of hard work also! You should be very proud of all you have accomplished. :hatparty:

    Good for you!

Sounds more like the results of hard work than of good luck!

I totally understand you on that one. I actually got to see my family this weekend too, as well as doing a months worth of dirty laundry. I visited my aunt for the first time since Christmas today, because I'm not sweating the final now. I just feel so good going into my final knowing that I can miss 45 out of 100 and pass. Don't get me wrong, I am still going to study as hard as I always do, but alot of pressure is off now. So needless to say I had a good time visiting this weekend.

Thanks everyone for all your kind words. I guess it seems as though I always study so hard and end up in the 80's on all my exams, so when I saw my grade I contributed it to luck, but I did earn it. It just goes to show that as long as you stay consistent and don't give up things will start to fall into place. Even though I don't have children yet I am beginning to feel like nursing school is alot like giving birth. I say this because I can't even remember (barely) the two nights I stayed up til 3:00a.m. studying. Just like they say after giving birth you forget the pain, I think after doing really well on a nursing exam you forget the hard work and just say it was luck. Does anyone else feel this way?

This past week I scored a 90% on my last exam in parent/child than 4 days later I pulled off a 99% on her final!! I could'nt believe it, I was/am thrilled.
That class has been a GIANT pain in the a-- for me since January and I am very glad to say goodbye to it.
I have my Adult Health II final this afternoon but am not sweating it to much as I am going into it with a 86% overall grade.
Adios to semester 4!! One more to go.

    My streak of luck:

    The car still runs.

    Grandma's doing good.

Applied for several places in our facility and interviewed with all

Applied and interviewed for a great day shift job that runs m-f from 6a-3p and got it.

    Still have the 4.0 GPA.

    Graduation's a month away.

Finally, FINALLY, met a sweet, wonderful guy. (So far he's perfect, haven't found any flaws so far...). Even though we're 3 hours apart, and it'll be a little over 2 years before i can move anywhere, he encourages and supports me, and wants to take every weekend he can to see me.
