Where to get my RN to BSN?

I need some advice from those of you who currently work as nurses!

I started out pre-nursing at a university, applied to their program and didn't get in, so a year ago I applied to the nursing program at a technical college and got in right away.

In the spring, I graduate with my ADN and I'd like to immediately go on to do my RN to BSN.

My question is: does it make a difference if I get my bachelor's degree from a 4-year university vs. somewhere online like Rasmussen College? Do employers prefer nurses who have gone to 4-year universities? My advisor is trying to convince me to transfer back to the university I came from, but it's so expensive.

I realize I still have a lot of time before I can apply to an RN to BSN program, but I have to decide within the next month whether to renew my lease for next year.

Your adviser is right. Tech college ADN + online BSN = circular file for a lot of HR departments.

Agree with GrnTea. Many of these 'quickie' programs have sprung up as the demand for BSN qualifications has intensified. Our hiring managers prefer BSN graduates that have actually had some practicums in which they apply community health, research, management & leadership, etc. The outcome is much different than programs in which BSN is just a "paper chase".
