I just got my DRG Puretone Cardiology in the mail.
I did research on them, and they seem to be superior to Littmann.
The ear tubing is more comfy (it contains gel) and the tubing won't harden as easily over time.
The only thing I don't like is the way the tubing is shaped, but that is just an aesthetic, it doesn't interfere with usage. It's a 2 tubes in one design, but you can see that there are two together.
Anyway, I just got it today so I haven't used it on a patient. But I heard my dog's heart and lung sounds quite well! Very loud and clear.
I also used it on myself, and I covered myself with 3 layers of clothing and I could still hear fine! I noticed with my Littmann (a master classic) I had to press quite hard...
I bought it on this website: www.egeneralmedical.com
for $109 or something.
I'm also glad that I didn't get a Littmann Card. because all the residents have that one and could easily grab mine by accident. I got this stethoscope engraved. I wrote about this on another post too, where I included a review that a paramedic did (he said he could hear more than with this Littmann).
But I suppose either one is fine! I'm not saying that my Master Classic was terrible; it was still very good. I simply desired an adult and pediatric chest piece.
