I want to work with babies like in the L&D unit or something..but I am already 34 and need to know where to begin..LPN? RN?

I'm in an ADN program and it can be done in two years but most students complete it in a longer period of time because the 7 and 9 credit hour nursing classes really take up around 20 hours of physical time. If you weren't working much and didn't have a bunch of kids to deal with, you could probably complete it in two years though.

Good luck to you! :)

Many programs won't even accept a student who hasn't taken a boatload of prerequisites. Mine sure won't.

I've heard that some programs make this possible. I have no idea how, but if the OP can find one, be warned that trying to finish a reputable ADN program from start-to-finish including prereqs sounds to me like suicide.
