Heh. I thought your username was "King Rat."
I have a real job now but Wal*Mart was the reason I ended up in nursing school. They were a decent outfit to work for but I wasn't going to work all those hours and weekends for a pittance.

I don't start my first semester of nursing school until August, so I'm still doing the same job I've been doing the past 4 years.
I do daycare at home! By myself! I have an almost 5 year old of my own and care for 2 2 year olds and a 15 month old. :)

Sorry, mine isn't bad at all!!! I play chauffer, cook, nurse (unlicensed of course!!) and baby sitter to 4 children who will be sitting in the pool all summer. I get to lay beside it, and get in if I want! Not a bad deal, but doesn't pay squat!!! Actually, I quit my full time job last February to focus on school, so I don't have a "real" job, with the exception of being mom with a whole lot of titles to boot!! Good luck~

Working as a CNA during nights at a unit in a hospital where all the RNs and MDs are totally great and I actually feel APPRECIATED, however the part that sucks is that the chick who works opposite from me has this whole seniority ego trip and gives me a hard time about planning out our schedule. Working weekends bums me out.

I'm working as a CNA also, but in a nursing home. I'll bet here 4 years in October...I have the most seniority and I work EVERY weekend...Some weekends I like it and others not so much. Most family stuff happens on weekends so I generally don't get to go. I like administration not being around, it's more laid back on the weekends, I like I can make appts on my days off, ect.

I had a pretty crappy summer job - calling people and setting up appointments to come in to listen to time share information. I lasted 2 weeks there.
I now have a job that I really like and don't want to leave once school starts. I work as a pharmacy tech at a major mail order pharmacy. The people are great there and it is just an awesome atmosphere. I wish I had time for school and this job too.

I am a tech at my local hospital, on the respiratory care unit, I actually love it there, and all the nurses make you feel like part of the team, I always work weekends, which i love because theres about 1/10 of the doctors cycling through, usually no social workers, physical therapy, ect. I plan on working there through fall semester (which is my 4th out of 5 in an ADN program), although I'll only work 2 12's per week.

I am a CNA at an LTC. I started working in this facility right after finals, spring 08. It is my first LTC and I don't like it at all. The work is grueling and we are constantly short on the 3-11 shift. Over the last 2 weeks we have worked on three occassions with only 3 CNAs for 66 residents. This includes dinner, showers, and many other tasks. Normally we have 5 CNAs which is a lot better but lately we are lucky to have 4. The pay is very low at this facility, so it is hard to find anyone who will stay. I will be leaving in about 3 weeks to go back to school. I am so happy to be leaving. I begin my clinicals in January, so I hope to find something in the hospital. I never want to do another LTC.
