What's everyone doing with their winter break?

  1. I don't know about the rest of y'all, but I've got 6 weeks off from next Tuesday until the end of January. I'm taking a winter mini-mester class to finish out my General Education requirements for this BSN and working on campus. I'm just curious to see what everyone else is going to be doing. CNA work? Pre-reading textbooks? What would you recommend to do so I don't forget everything I've learned so far this semester (1st semester of junior year)? Should I go back and type up all my notes so I can have space for more paper in my apartment? Perhaps this has been already asked and if so, please forgive my curiousity.

Let me just say, I hope everyone's going to be enjoying their time off so we can all charge through next semester. Med-Surg and OB for me and 16 hours/week of clinical time.

I'm planning to visit my parents in California in early January. For the past 2 years, I have been living approximately 1,400 miles away from them in Texas. I can't wait to see them!

Oh that's exciting! I almost forgot that I'm going on vacation to see a girlfriend in Columbus, OH with my SO for a week before I go home to see the parents. Taking anything fun with you on the airplane?

I just plan to take the typical stuff: clothes, shoes, personal care items, money, bills, and other things that I have written on my list. I have to ensure that my personal care things are in containers smaller than 2 ounces, or else the airplane screeners will make me throw them away before I board the plane. I found this out the hard way back in March of this year.

I'm going to relax and spend time with my kids. This is the first X-mas that I haven't had to work in years!

I will be working & drinking. I work at a bar, so they go hand in hand. I won't even think about nursing school until it's time for class. I'm in my last semester of my BSN program, so I'm just going to coast. I also plan on reading a lot and start the application process at a few hospitals.

Today was my first day without classes or studying...had my final yesterday. I actually felt GUILTY not studying today. lol

Anyway, I think I'm going to just relax until after New Years and then take the 2 weeks before school starts and get a head start on my reading.

    Enjoy your break. :spin:
