what is your NLN test scores and GPA?

i was wondering what your NLN test score and GPA was when you got into a nursing program in your school?

i ask this because i got a letter of denial from my school saying that the quota was full and that the pool of people they choosen had 4.0GPA's and above 130 NLN test scores the highest being 155 ( who ever got 155 on the NLN must be a genius because the highest is 160).

my GPA is 3.8 with a 115 NLN test score and i still didnt get in. i am in honolulu, and i guess the students here are crazy smart. anyhow most schools here in hawaii only accept 30-35 students and this includes the 4 year college and 2 year colleges.

a friend of mine who got accepted into the program i applied for got a 4.0GPA and a 150 NLN score.

i got in with a 3.6gpa. we didn't take the NLN beforehand. but now they are making new students take the HOBET (health occupations basic entrance test) before making admissions decisions. we were the guinea pigs for it. the year i got in our school made us take the hobet after we had alreayd got in, now this year (2 years later) i have a friend applying who has to take the HOBET before getting in, and has to pay for it, too. (we didnt have to pay for it then)

we had 400 applications(approx) for 80 spots.

I think every school is different. I have been out of school a while and my GPA seven years ago was a 3.6, but I also took classes the year before school with a 4.0. I got a 125 on my NLN. I think it is all in how many people did well and who applies. I would think they would take the first so many who got the scores they desire and then go from there. I applied for two schools and one required the NLN and the other did not. I was accepted to both (very grateful) and ended up going to the one where they did not require the NLN due to the school being closer to my home. In all your grade point average and NLN score is well above average and I would think you would be someone they would consider.:)

From what I understand some schools go by GPA and others have other standards.

We didn't take the NLN, but my GPA was 3.87 when I got in. The first time I got in, it was crummy from high school, but it had been 10 years since I graduated.

Didn't take the NLN, my school bases admits on GPA and ACT. When I got in last spring, my GPA was a 3.8

well, the school i go to requires you to take the nln, and they would like for you to make as close to 120 as possible. i know last year the school didnt have enough ppl make 120 so they worked their way down from there. i just took the nln on the 15th of nov. i made a 133 and my gpa. is only 3.2 at the moment. lol when the instructor at the nursing school saw my grade she patted me on the back and said" see you in January". you might check with other schools about their entry requirments, because the school your looking into seems to have unreasonable requirements. good luck
