hello all,

in your opinion what is the hardest semster? the most enjoyable?

thanks all.....:yeah:

Specializes in PICU/Pedi.

I can't say from experience, as I am only about to enter my third semester, but I keep hearing that the fourth semester (out of five - Level III) is the hard one. It is Med-Surg III, Peds, and Psych. I keep hearing horror stories about Psych.

So far, I have really enjoyed the first two semesters. ALOT of work, and pretty stressful at times, but very interesting. I just look forward to the rest of it.

The last semester BY FAR was the hardest for me. (finishing this week) You need to bring forward all of your knowledge from previous semesters in addition to learning some new concepts.

I'm in a BS program, but....still, I'd say: the one you're currently in :-)

Well I am only about to enter level III, but EVERY semester I think the same thing.."this is the hardest semester", then comes the next. I have heard many horror stories about every level so far, so I would just do your best. What's hard to one person, may not be for the next. I really enjoyed "Maternity and Women's Health. Good luck.

I just finished my 3rd semester and still waiting for my grade. I would say the most enjoyable was the 2nd semester (medsurg I + peds). Most horrible so far is the 3rd semester (medsurg II + OB) -OB was way easier than MS tho.

I've just finished nursing 1, so I don't have anything else to go by. I know for me, I think OB with be the hardest emotionally because I'm very passionate about certain things, so OB is going to suck for me! Glad it's only 8 weeks long!

I read this and thought, "yeah! totally!" And I scrolled up to see your name, I cracked up! We will be in the same boat. I read a story about having to assist a circ, and I immediatly started to panic. I will certainly NOT be jumping to volunteer with that one!!! I am taking "effective communication" classes this summer, to help prep myself because I get VERY loud when people don't see things how I do. And the mind numbing comments from people just going through the motions, and not taking parenting seriously will be my downfall. For sure. "I'm getting induced because teh baby is ready." "Really? Because when the baby is ready, you go into labor. No induction needed." Oh Lord help me!

Glad I'm not the only one that's going to hate that rotation, lol! Oh it's going to be horrible between inducing, bottles and mutitation...I'm gonna be crazy for 8 weeks. :angryfire Good luck to you....hope you get through it!

Yep...OB will be hard for me for the same reasons. It's why I will never be a L&D nurse, even though I lOVE pregnancy and childbirth. I'm still looking forward to the class - I'm just going to have to keep my mouth shut!
