Tiggur, it's going to have to be those old standbys-portable fruits-bananas are particularly handy since they come in their own little travel packages, and if you sit in the back of the room, they're quiet. Reduced fat and calorie versions of everything-bread, cheese meats.

I joined weight-watchers online and so far have done pretty well. It's hard at first, all that planning, but you can juggle normal foods around and still lose weight.

The exercise thing is always the first to go. We have to park five blocks from the building, so that helps, especially since one of the people I carpool with sets the pace and she's fast!

Cyberkat, I just joined weight watchers last week. I am doing the at-home one though and not the online, had a hard time deciding but I decided to use the at home and then look at the message boards online because there will be certain areas I can access and others that I won't be able to access. I just received everything today and I have been reading through. I am going to put a grocery list together tonight and go shopping tonight. My problem is that I drink way too much pop and eat wayyyyyyy too much fast food. Well, that is all about to change because I am starting to have diffculty walking, I can barely walk around on campus without getting all out of breath.

As far as ideas for foods most have already been said, sanwhiches, carrots and other veggies, raisins, PBJ or just plain PB, crackers, fruit like bananas, apples, grapes, those are my favorite things.

I use the cold wraps I have in the freezer for the kids bumps. Put them in a baggie if they have any undesirable remnants of the last booboo. But hey if its that bad you wouldnt have it in the freezer with your food would you? Keeps everything nice and cool till lunch. I can only do so many PBJ's and dry sandwiches.

Also if you dont have a micro available in the cafeteria or vending room, find out who is on the student board and make that suggestion. Or speak with the cafeteria manager, they may be able to accomodate something if it means they may have more sales from side dishes, drinks etc. May not really be the case, but is a reasonable rational for the request.

Like most people here, I live off pb&j during the semester and I always have a big bottle of water with me, and usually some $ for the coke machine! I've never taken bananas, I'm sure i'd have squished them with my A&P book. Carrot sticks worked nicely though.

Ate too many donuts and candy bars so now I do a "shake" three times a week (1 cup plain active yogurt, 1 cup orange juice, 1 cup cranberry juice, 1/4 tsp. flaxseed oil, 1/4 tsp wheat germ oil), it detoxes my system and I try really hard to stay away from all that sweet stuff and eat raw vegi's whenever I get "hungry. Hopefully this semester will take off some of that weight that I've put on! If I gain weight like I have been for the next 5 semesters they will be rolling me up the aisle for graduation like a beach ball!! LOL!

I had almost the same thing every day, because I only had about 20 or under minutes. I tore up BBQ'd chicken breast (no skin) and kept in freezer with frozen shredded cheese. Each day I'd throw a bit of each in a tortilla and rolled it up in foil. When I had it, I added spinach. I kept my frozen (half frozen half added in morning) water next to it. By lunch time it was all thawed and fresh. I'd throw in a banana or cracker mix, and sometimes 2 choc. kisses. It worked great, filling and energizing. I tried to watch carbs. Oh yeah, I had to have soda to get through!
