rhona1, YES!! I'd do it in a heartbeat. And I had some complications, not many, no leaks, but in your mind, I know the quantity of food that i used to eat, the times I used to eat, the sodas I used to drink, the junk I'd consume-4 basic food groups were chocolate, salt, soda and burgers. I needed to rethink my whole life, when I was stressed out, I couldn't jump in the car, go for ice cream eat that, then get a super big gulp and nachos with a hot dog and bad of M&M's and eat that. Now I actually have to stand there and firure out why Im' upseet and talk about it. For the 120 lb weight loss in 8 months, I'd do it in a heartbeat, to be able to fit better into the movie theater seats, I'd do it again, to have my little guy say "Mommy, I can put my hands ALL the way around you, I'd do it again. To have the energy, I'd do it again, TO be able to go into a regualr size store and buy clothes, I'd do it again.

Don't get me wrong, my husband loved ME

When i was pregnant my doctor put me on an 1800 calorie/day diet, because my glucose level was high at the first check. I wasn't ever diagnosed with gestational diabetes, but he kept me on the diet none the less. Anyway I lost 5 lbs. the month he put me on it eventhough I was pregnant. However, postpartum i blew it out of the water, All I wanted was chocolate, and potato chips (forbidden on the diabetic diet) So here I am chunky as ever blaming the snickers for my gains. My point is I am starting that diet again tomorrow. You still get to eat a lot of food, but you can only eat certain ones and nothing else. I recommend it to anyone.

wish me luck :)

This is a wonderfully positive forum, and I would just like to say KEEP IT UP!! Cynthiann had mentioned being worried about getting to the gym. If it really is a problem, especially in those winter months, there are some GREAT videos on the market that would be an excellent fill-in for those days of the week that you aren't able to make it. You have to have a little "extra get-up-and-go" to motivate to work out at home, so granted it might not be for everyone, bit these are some of my favorite videos that I have found to be absolutley FABULOUS!! (and EFFECTIVE)

ANYTHING put out by The Firm ....they use weights and aerobics simeultaneously for optimum results, some dumbells and steppers required, but it is WELL WORTH IT.

That Power 90 series you see advertised on TV by LA fitness guru Tony Horton (I don't do the supplements they advertise...don't believe in that stuff personally)

These videos are an EXCELLENT workout and time-efficient as well. They alternate total body cardio and weights. Again, some dumbells or resistance bands required. This workout is great if you don't have a lot of space in your apartment, or travel a lot.

Tracey Austin Gold Series "Sizzler" - again aerobics and weights combined.

Anyhoo, just a few suggestions on things that have worked for me to get me through school/military life/bad weather...etc.

Good morning ladies!!! I stepped on the scale this morning, and I lost 1 lb. I know it's not that much, but at least I didn't gain. Especially since I haven't been at the gym since I got back from my vacation. I'll start my routine this week again, and see how it goes. I'll post again next monday and let you know if I lost any :) or gained:(.

Good luck to all, and let's keep the good work.

I wanted to share something w/ you I have on my fridge door.

On a piece of paper I have something that goes like this: THE PRINCIPLE IS COMPETING

AGAINST YOURSELF. IT IS ABOUT

SELF IMPROVEMENT, ABOUT

BEING BETTER THAN YOU WERE

THE DAY BEFORE.

Steve Young

Just wanted to share that w/ you. I hope it helps!! I know it helps me.

Have a great week!!!!!

Good morning all.Well it's confession time and I am at 322lbs. yikes, well I am back on track today and we will see what a week of behaving myself can do. I ate like a royal piggy this weekend. At least I know I'm human lol. How about everyone else? I haven't seen too many updates. Where is everyone? Okay here's to a great week for all of us!

Bran,Bran, and more Bran. Seems to work and curb the munchies.

Save your cereal boxes...you can even eat those too. The taste is equivalent! haha!

I tried to wake up early this morning to go to the gym but didn't have enough time (only an hour to get ready go there and get back before school) so I did do this yoga tape I just bought. I going to try to do yoga at least twice a week now. If I can make it to the gym at least 3 times to do weights I will be happy with that. What I also want to start doing is some sprinting. I've read in many places that sprinting is a very effective way to burn off fat to help you get leaner. I haven't even bothered to try to weigh myself since last week. Especially right now since we barbequed yesterday and I drank coke. I rarely drink soft drinks (maybe once every other week) because is full of sodium, sugar and empty calories.

I have a question for everyone. What is you plan? What exactly are you doing to reach your goals? The reason I want to ask this question is because many people may say "I want to lose 10 pounds this month" but don't have a plan of action behind it. You have to plan to go to the gym at least 3 times a week. You have to plan to eat better. You have to plan to drink more water. It doesn't just happen because you want it to.

I want to get down to a size 7/8 by the end of next month. I plan on exercising at least 5 days a week. I plan on eating healthy well balance meals and drinking at least 1/2 gallon or more of water a day.

Count me in, I can sure use the encouragement. I am at 220, after being at 168 a year ago, ouch!:( because of some new meds I had to go on! Anyway, I have dropped meat from my eating pretty much to lower my cholesterol and it's amazing how much I crave veggies and fruits now:eek: . I don't get on the scale too much, because it tends to discourage me. Although I had a class the other day where my tummy touched the writing surface of the desk! That woke me up!:imbar If anyone has any ideas for vegie packed lunches that are high in protein and low in cholesterol, I would love it!

WE CAN DO THIS!:kiss Heather
