Weakness

  1. I am reviewing and two different books do not agree with each other. For instance, if a pt. has left sided weakness and want to get out of bed where should you place the wheel chair or chair? One book says put it on the left side to support the weakness and the other one says you want to move on the strong side so place it on the right side. Which one is correct??

Just from experience I have always placed it on the stronger side of body, but I have seen people do it different.

we were told to put it on the strong side.
Same with crutch walkin, they put their strong foot out first, then follow with the weak one
