Okay, so I'm unclear as to what you're mad at? You don't like pre-nursing students asking questions? Having a forum? What?

I think OP is upset that pre-nursing students are asking questions on the nursing student discussion forum.

Lighten up! It's just a forum. Nursing students ask questions on the General Nursing discussion forum all the time and no one is in a tizzy about it.

Arn't we all supposed to be here to help each other? So what if they post occasionally in the general forum. Actually, you could be a little more tactful and just PM them that there is a forum for those types of posts.

We strive to be a helpful place where all nursing students can come for assistance. As we move up the ranks of studentism (is that a word?), we should take questions as a compliment to our increasing knowledge. We need all the nurses we can get and by being kind to all, we all benefit. Thanks everyone.

Geez, were'nt we all pre-nursing students just yesterday? I know I was and I had tons of questions and was grateful that those who had passed to the other side of pre-nursinghood (is that a word? hehehe) were willing to answer my questions or offer support. All of us are on the same journey wheather we've been accepted into a program or not. We share the common thread of being students. I don't believe that there is a need to segregate. I'm not any better than the girl or guy still struggling to get into a program, I'm just further along. I'm just happy to have a place to come and chat with others who have the same passion for nursing that I do.

not to be ugly but i really enjoy post by other nursing students. i understand that there are times when pre-nursing students need help. .. but there are way too many, and i am finding it hard to enjoy the forum that was created for us! i believe fellow nursing students agree... we work very hard and enjoy the chats on being in nursing school.

I like the prenursing students asking questions. On the selfish side, I like the reminder that I am moving down the path, getting closer to my goal. It is nice to know that there are people in this world who actually WANT my opinion and advice, unlike my children.

Never once have the nurses on the General Board directed me to the Student Board and I'm grateful. This here pond is big enough for all the fishes and if some of them venture out of the shallow end, so what!

What, so just because a student is still taking prereqs, they aren't working just as hard as say a nursing student? The whole thing is hard. From start to finish. Technically, my major as always said Nursing ADN. Even during prereqs. I come here because of many reasons. I think we all support each other and can help one another. Face it. It ain't easy being us. Many of us have other things besides just school going on. And I, for one, am very glad that I have found others with many of the same situations I face.

I think you all are great. Keep up the great work. And please don't let opinions like this discourage you. We all deserve the same amount of encouragement and help.

You know, if we oldster RNs posted something like this about Nursing Students in our forums, we would get chewed over and spit out as "Eating Our Young".

"Eating their Young" is exactly what came to mind with this. How many nursing students actually check out the pre-nursing forum? If we aren't there to check out their questions, they come here, where they know they can get help. -Andrea
