Work or school , you will likely get told to untuck.

I've never seen a hospital that allows people to tuck their scrub pants into their shoes. Or wear high tops. At least in my area.

There is no 'self-expression' in nursing school. Just sayin'.......

I feel old. Is that a "thing?" Tucking pants into high tops?

When did I stop knowing what the current "things" are?

Your nursing struggles are real...nursing school is difficult. I m not so sure I would be defiant about dress code especially while you are in school. But that is your choice.

As a seasoned nurse and educator ...my advice would be...follow dress code.

I'm not understanding the point..In school as well as on the job, I had/have more important things to worry about...

hmm. thanks for the input, ppl. well if they tell me to untuck them there's not much i can do about it. hopefully the real world work environment is more lenient..
Sorry but.....it isn't.

The thing about tucking in your pants in to your shoes is when someone pukes or :poop: down your leg is that it will go right into you shoe. With the pant lag outside of the shoe it will hopefully run off to the floor.

And I would remember when addressing other professional in person...referring to them as dudes and dudettes probably isn't the best representation of your professionalism and maturity as a nurse.

I am curious.....What is the purpose of tucking your pants in your shoes?

Is there really a point to any if the fads?

that quick escalation though. to clarify, the reason for me wanting to engage in tuck action is due to the fact that 1) my shoes are made for eating tucks 2) it's just a style.

plus, the tuck won't really be major. i kind of see it like choosing what color scrubs you wanna wear -a matter of personal preference.

excuse me if the dude/dudette thing offended u lol. i am what i came from lol. there's no changing that.

High tops may not meet the dress code and some places actually do tell you what color to wear.

If you have any desire to maybe get a job at any of your clinical sites, then I would choose not to express myself. Drawing attention to yourself could very well cost you a job opportunity. Be stylish when you aren't at clinical.

fair enough. thanks for the feedback, guys.
