Trauma-Neuro ICU Interview Update

  1. The director is recommending me for the Critical Care Internship!!! Woohoo!!!

She can't guarantee me a job in Trauma-Neuro ICU, but...

This means I'll definitely start the internship next January. It's six months long. She's recommending me for the Center for Critical Care which includes: MICU/SICU, TNICU, BURN ICU, AND SCU (Special care unit - CVA's and renal transplants mostly). I am so excited I could just :Melody: from the rooftops.

    Yeehaw!!!

    CONGRATS!

Now, tell me, what kinds of things did she ask you at the interview?

I'm in a similar situation myself. Seeking to sign on as a new grad in an ICU I've worked at for 2 years as a unit secretary, so I'm a "known commodity" to them. I've been very curious once I get to a "formal interview" stage, what the interview may be like.

    Thanks!

Why do you think you would do well in the CC Internship?

What qualities do you think are necessary for a good critical care nurse?

What would you do if you got an order from a resident you were uncomfortable with?

What would you do if you had a problem with a co-worker?

Can't think of anymore right now... I'll try to think of them as I'm working tonight.
