@ nursefrances - LMAO! Now the pirates song is stuck in my head. LOL!

I'm really in a bad spot. What should one do when one's only credit card is maxed out & one has no job? I only used my credit card to buy toiletries...you know, the bare necessities pretty much. Now my kids are miserable because we're eating out of whatever cans of food were in the pantry. I know it's only one more year, but yikes! That's a lot of scraping the barrel.

Too funny! "...selling your gametes.." sounds so, um, nerdy but true right?! Your comment definitely made me lol but it is only because those are my sentiments exactly. There are lots and lots of prequalifications so hopefully it will ease the urge for most. :) Just all too funny! I am already thinking about taking lunches, investing in a new fave and much larger java holder etc. Whew! I'm pretty okay in the finance department at home with my honey but all of this adds up quickly!

I hear they pay like $5,000 for donating your eggs, just sayin' ... too bad that was never an option for me, I would have happily provided like a chicken :D

Oh. My. Gosh. I thought I was the only crazy person who serious thought about doing that! Unfortunately the closest egg donating bank is like 6 hours away, and I know that because I looked it up! Lol too funny.

"Tired Broke & Frustrated" explains me perfectly right now. Between entrance Exams, applying to nursing schools & not to mention trying to pay for it I'm EXHAUSTED. When they say nursing school is hard competitive & not anything to be played with they mean it.

Can't wait for scrubs and a cold hospital, that's when I'll know that all this paid off! Lol

YES! Nice and cold lol that's what I'm talking about :-P

I babysit whenever possible. It's flexible and I can bring my own kids and utilize the time I'd be spending taking care of them anyway to make a little extra cash. If I get to babysit at night even better because I can study while the baby sleeps and without thinking about how much laundry I have to do like when I'm at home. And it's pretty easy to book jobs because who wouldn't want someone certified in CPR, and on their way to being a nurse to keep their kids?

I still struggle though. I just haven't been able to give up my starbucks (meet there to study with classmates reguarly), or my eggs : ) and my family refuses to give up cable, and netflix.

I was lucky enough to have a part time job where my employer would allow me to schedule my work hours around my classes and clinical schedule each semester. Granted, its a very small practice where I was the only secretary for the first 2 years I worked there. Once more secretaries were hired, my hours got cut back to 10-15 hours a week, and around 7-8 hours my last semester, but at least she still allowed me to work. I also have had a babysitting job with the same family for the last 5 years, so that gave me some extra money each month. I would say to try any small jobs you are offered. I even did some house cleaning for one semester during my undergrad.
