So I'm in my first semester of nursing school, just started last weekend actually.

I don't qualify for financial aid, so loans are paying my tuition. I work at a near by hospital. I work 3 12hr shifts a week as a unit secretary/ nurse support tech. As the semesters go on I will use eto for certain shifts but I can't do it for all. As of right now I'm working weekends with hopes that it works, I mean it has to.. I have

to work..

I am wondering if anyone has any tips for those of us who have to work while in school??

Time management. Keep a planner with detailed scheduling, and schedule study sessions. Prepare food that can be kept for a while, that way you can stock up and don't have to worry about cooking.

I worked all through school. Doing weekends is a smart way to avoid class conflicts and make extra shift diff. Stay on top of your studies and go into the semesters with a bang so that as it wears on and you get tired you won't have your feet in the fire. It is doable, just keep pushing forward. Wishing you all the best.

At first I would work any extra day we had off school... after a semester of that I pulled back and took at least every other off as a day to recharge my self. I know the extra money is nice but take that day.

Time management is your best friend.
