I was the adviser for 4 first level students. before the semester started, I emailed them my contact info and that I would meet them at orientation. I ended up meeting 3 of them. never met the 4th. I also emailed them mid semester and the end of the semester to wish them luck on finals. I also emailed them before I graduated to let them know they can reach out to me any time they wanted.
I think its a great idea and more should do it. I'd be happy to help any nursing students. feel free to PM me too
