Temple College ADN Program (Temple, TX)

by KAR38

There wouldn't be any prospective students here trying to get into the Temple College ADN program for fall 2009, would there?

I just took my NET-RN yesterday and got an 84 composite (80 math, 88 reading) and have no idea if there's any hope. I understand it's a point system but not sure if the NET-RN would count more than the prereq grades. I have an A on my prereq computer course from last semester and am making A's so far in the other two prereq classes I'm taking this semester.

I need to take my test results over to the nursing department, fill out the application, get my transcripts sent to them, find out something about financial aid, etc. The deadline on financial aid is closing in but how can you apply for financial aid for attending the nursing program when it's very competitive and the odds are you won't even get into it?

Hey,
I am currently taking my courses to do the bridging there and I am a also a graduate of the VN program . I hope that you do make A's on your preq's. You did very well on your NET and should get around 3 points for that at least. The pool changes from year to year. It is best to have the coreqs done as well but it is possible to get in with just the prereqs. In the unlikely event that you do not get in the RN program this year, please apply for the VN program the next year. It is by far easier to get into and you can always bridge over. If you are low-income when you get your acceptance letter take it to the Texas Workforce Commission and apply for WIA. They pay for everything from tuition, to books, to uniforms, to supplies, and even the boards. I also suggest that you complete the FAFSA which is what is used to determine what you are eligible for. Good luck to you and feel free to pm me with further questions .

Thanks so much for the reply! I can see now I should have applied for the LVN program too. Alas! And should have done more co-reqs. If I don't get into the RN program this year, then I will have time to take microbiology and A&P II. I will just have to look at it that way, as having more time to get more stuff done and to apply for the LVN program also.

I sure did! I am shocked - I haven't taken Micro or A&P II yet so I thought I might not get in. Got my acceptance letter last Friday!

I'm Kimberley. Yes, see you on the 29th!

I do have the general education courses. I "just" need those two science classes and then everything else will be in the nursing program itself, I guess.

What I've always heard is you need A's in all 3 of the prereqs. I guess it depends on how many others apply and what your grades are and your NET-RN score. You have a fall semester and a spring semester to get them in so you should have a chance, I would think.
