I just got a pair of walking shoes from Walmart and they worked great. I may try the NurseMates next semester...we shall see.

Stethoscope, I got an Allhearts brand (you can see the link in the other post I linked above)

Watch, doesn't matter...just as long as it has a 2nd hand.

My scrub bottoms I just got from Allhearts as well.

I like my rolling backpack and wouldn't trade it in for an over-the-shoulder ever! I can't remember what mine is - my in-laws got it for me for Christmas last year.

stethoscope - littman definitely

shoes - i prefer nike or new balance

watch - i prefer digital because you can switch it to 24hr time, but any instructor is going to tell you to have a watch with a second hand for vitals

but these are not the things you should stress over :)

theres a whole forum dedicated to this topic

Definitely try NurseMates! I bought these:

and they are SOOOOO comfortable, very lightweight and have good arch support. They may not be the cutest-looking shoes (I like them! :D) but I will NOT sacrifice comfort for looks! I love how it's a slip-on so I don't have to worry about tying my shoe laces every so often or risk tripping on them.

If you look up to the Sticky threads, there is a locked one called "Check here first -- Sticky Threads of ongoing interest located here". There is one called "What are the items you need most for nursing school" that is an exhaustive list of everything you could think of. I loved that thread last year, that is where I got the idea to have my giant fundamentals book unbound (which really saved my back). It is too bad those sticky threads are hidden away in another post, I don't even look there anymore. There is also a great thread called "So, you're observing in the OR" which will be useful in the future.

I was going to suggest ponytail holders as well for those with long hair!

And Brain...that's funny!!! Where can I purchase one of those?
