I can not receive private messages for some reason but you are free to email me at [email protected] .I do not attend KBCC, I am actually a hunter college student. I also wanted to know if you were able to begin the application process since the dead line to take the TEAS V is November 14 or the 18.

Hi! I submitted my application a few weeks ago and finally received an email saying my application was submitted to the committee! Anyone else at this stage yet?

I have not done so yet I am still trying to make time to study for the TEAS V how was the exam and do you think 3 weeks is enough to study?

oh yea. I studied for one solid week while I was on vacation from work over the summer and made pretty high marks. I strictly studied from the official study guide. Read it cover to cover. Did both of the practice tests multiple times, and reviewed the stuff I didn't know over and over. I actually did much better on the real test than on any of the practice tests that I took.

I would suggest focusing most of your energy on math and reading, since those are the only scores SUNY looks at. Don't stress about the science...its a waste of time and the questions are SO random!

wait so does it matter what i score on the science part because i thought they look at it as an over all grader I have been extremely stressed with applying and finishing up my semester but im happy that you got your application through, thats great you are probably going to make a great nurse because your so punctual . i am sure with that you will get in for some reason.

Thanks for your vote of confidence! SUNY is my first choice, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

They do look at the overall score, but if you do great in the other topics (which I think is very realistic if you read the study book thoroughly) then science shouldn't drag you down too much. It was definitely the hardest section for me, because I haven't finished my prereqs yet. Most of the questions seemed to come from AP2 and focused on circulation and the heart, so it would be wise to brush up on that. There were also a lot of questions about meiosis vs mitosis. Honestly, I guessed (relatively educated...) on nearly half of the science questions and didn't do too bad. The curve must have helped me out.

Just a heads up about the application process. It took me about 2 good weeks to get everything completed online and all my docs uploaded. The application is massive! And then I had to wait on my references to submit their portion...

Yeah I have seen it as well I guess I will hit the books hard next week . I am not to worried about English because I've always done well . I just want to brush up on my math and just review the science portion give my self about two weeks and take the exam . I think some people will find out earlier than others since the deadline is December 14, I think .

Thanks so much for the heads up I also took anatomy and physiology 1 and 2 but that was in 2011 . I think I can review rhat real quick and meosis I find fairly simple . I work with some nurses so I might ask them for my recommendation letters. I'm hoping to get in my application by the first week of November because I've lived in Brooklyn all my life and I would love to be in the program and it's also my first choice.

Hi Tacokrunch! Did you take the TEAS? Did you apply yet?

Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of applying to SUNY as well. I have the TEAS exam, next week. Let's see how it goes. Do any of you know about the pre-requisites needed to apply? I had difficulty finding the information on their website. I don't have the required amount of Chemistry classes. Can I fulfill the requirement by next summer?

Hey Guys,

I'm also applying for this program. I took the TEAS V, and I don't think I did good. I got 71% in reading (the minimum score the school wants is 70%), and 70% in math (the minimum required score is 75%) - I wonder if I can still apply with these scores? My overall GPA is really good though (3.8). I'm going to get my application going (just in case), and I'm going to attend an info session this upcoming Wednesday. Any ideas if I can still apply with those TEAS V scores?

Thank you.
