I have some questions for Langara BSN Nursing students.
If you begin the program knowing what you would like to specialize in, are you given the opportunity to get more placements within your place of interest. For example, I would like to be a labour and delivery nurse and get as much experience as possible working with women in childbirth, postpartum, possibly with mothers and new babies in clinics etc.
Also, are you able to begin specializing before graduation? Perhaps by beginning the BCIT perinatal specialization?
When I was working at BC Women's as doula I met some fantastic nurses and one of them had graduated from UBC and she said that she was able to have more focus in maternity because that was her main interest. Is this so for Langara?
