Well congrats to me I got into Nursing school.

But i have to take over Micro and Chem 1 because i got a C in them in my other school and they can only take C+ or higher.

Now I am going to be slowed down in my program. I will probably have to take one more semester :(

Oh well just venting.

Sorry to hear that... I'm struggling through Micro now. I was lucky with chemistry. My teacher was pretty good and it was really geared towards us pre-nursing majors. They didn't try to bog us down with stuff we wouldn't need to use in the future.

Good luck with your classes!

I know its rough to deal with, MJ. I went through the same thing about three years ago with my A & P II class and I cried because I had to forfeit my acceptance into a nursing program until the following year. Just do whatever you have to to reach your ultimate goal. Good Luck.

Wishing you all the best this time around!:)

Congrats on getting into nursing. I know how rough chem is. I struggled so hard and was so proud of my B+. I'm in a ADN program starting this fall and still have to take Micro. I'm waiting for the following summer semester to take it, that way I don't have to take it with my nursing classes, and it won't slow me down in the program. Is this an option for you?

well the following summer semeseter i am going to be taking 2 nursing classes so i can't, too many classes in the summer is not good :p

Hi, have not yet taken A&P or Microbiology, so can any of you tell me why it is soooo hard? Reading some of this scares me.

A&P is alot of memorization. It's tough, but if your dedicated and study a little everyday, you'll do fine. In my nursing program, what you get in A&P is a big determination on how well you do in nursing, and whether or not you get into the program could depend on that grade because our instructors feel that the amount of info is the closest to the amount of info presented in nursing. I would take A&P over again twice before I took chem again. Haven't taken micro yet, and I'm scared.

Don't be scared. I didn't think A&P was nearly as difficult as many people say it is. Just keep up with the reading and you'll be fine. There are also TONS of resources available to help you learn the material. Our text book came with a CD-ROM that really helped me learn some of the more difficult topics. There are also some really nice flash cards available in the bookstores that can help you learn alot of the body systems.

I've noticed a lot of people saying that A&P is just a lot of memorization. I didn't really feel this was the case. Granted, when you're learning the names of the muscles and bones, it's all memorization. However, when you get into the more complicate topics like renal physiology or digestion, it becomes much more.

As for micro...I'm suffering through that now. I'll let you know how I feel about it at the end of the summer. :)
