Tommorrow is the start of a two-day Nursing Success "Boot Camp". I didn't even find out until the last minute if I was going to be able to go or not (long story I posted about in the Pre-Nursing student forum), and so I'm beyond excited. But I'm a little nervous, you know? I guess this is the part where we will be told that our families and friends can have us back in two years. I can't wait, though. I've been working hard to get to this point, and I still can't believe I'm there. :yeah:

Anyway, I need to get ready for tommorrow. Just had to say something!

a little bit of fear is a good thing I think. Keeps you on your toes and makes you want to not mess up. Congrats though, its a fun place to be now that you are in.

YAY!!! How exciting! So happy for you - just remember to hang in there, no matter how tough it gets & good luck!

Thanks for all your encouragement :heartbeat!

The last two days have been cool. We met some of the faculty, talked about critical thinking skills, different learning styles, how to study NCLEX-style questions, the different roles in nursing, etc. Door prizes were given out. We all wrote down our birthdays, and put together a group to plan a birthday party each month for everybody having a birthday then. We were encouraged alot, and told to come to the faculty members or students ahead of us if we need help. The faculty were nice, and seemed very supportive (so far!). We bought books and joined the Student Nurse Association. We toured the nursing facilities. It made me even more excited about school.

We were warned a little about how hard school can be. We weren't told to tell our families and friends good-bye, but told that we might only be able to clean the house every 16 weeks!lol She told us that if we are working full-time, to start saving money because they don't want us to work full-time, if at all, when we start clinicals next semester. Were told that we would be eating alot of hamburger helper and Chinese food!

All in all, it was good. Can't wait until next week when classes begin.
