I am 29 married with 3 boys and I thank God he has allowed me the strength to go back to school after these few years. Went to college at the age of 18 but all I did was party. Thank God for Grace and Mercy. I admire everyone on this BB that is going back to school and reaching for the stars. Everyone continue to hang in there. HATS OFF TO ALL OF THE STUDENT NURSES AND NURSES.
MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS US ALL!

Are there no men inbetweeners? I am a 29 (soon to be 30)years old. I am married to my best friend, 7 wonderful years now. She thinks she may start in the nursing field as a LPN when the boys start back to school. She has been a housewife since we were married and has really taking to my nursing books. Two great children (6 and 4), or at least I think there great, haven't seen them much lately. I am first year with 2 to go for my ASN degree. I work full time and school full time. I see my family on Sunday if I'm lucky. I agree that this is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. But, when I see the families faces and know I will be able to provide better for them when it's over, it makes it worth it.

Hi guys! I'm 30, married for 11 yrs, 2 boys (4 and 7) and in the fall will be 2 semesters away from finishing the ADN program!!! (Doing my happy dance). Can't tell you how glad I am to have found this place. No one would understand all the things we have to go through except a fellow student. We've all been there done that. I think I got over my "guilt" on the family time. I believe in quality and not quantity and I believe I give that. I've had a year to practice so I'm getting close. I also have a workaholic spouse so I'm pretty much doing everything but make the $$$ (yet!) But when he's here, he's here doing everything.
    Take care,
    Marlo

    Hi:
I am 34 and have been married almost 3 years (August 15th). I have a B.A. in English so I have prereqs to take big time. I will take Chemistry this fall, probably Math in the spring, and Psych over next summer. Though it's a year away I've already begun studying A&P and Dimensional Analysis (Math). I haven't studied Chemistry since high school but my husband has a Ph.D. in Chemistry so he BETTER help me!

We don't have kids yet and I am trying to figure out how in the world am I going to take these classes and plan for a family too. I feel guilty about the prospects of having such a young child and classes fighting for my attention....I'm not getting any younger and don't feel I can put it off too much longer.

In the meantime we have a four legged fur kid, a tuxedo cat.

If I survive this nursing school gig I think I would like to work in Oncology.

Hi everyone, I've noticed this thread before and am just now responding. I'm 27, married, 1 child, and I officially start my nursing program this fall. I'm finishing up my last prereq now. Nervous and excited at the same time. I should have that BSN in December 2004.

I am a 25 year old BSN student. I have a wonderful husband who is the light of my life (yes, I am a newlywed - 1 yr last month, but I hope to always feel so wonderful about him). I have finished almost all of my preq so after this fall I only have clinical classes left! No kids yet.
