Skills Training Website anyone????

Is there a website out there, whereby you can actually see the nursing skills being done, such as wound care, bed making, Injections etc...

I believe that if I visualize the skills, I will be able to replicate it.

Please advise.

I don't know how accurate or helpful these videos are but you might try going to youtube.com and typing in nursing. I know there are a lot of videos on nursing so you might also want to type in the procedure/skill you are looking for.

I've been able to see male and female catherizations, iv starts and (sorry for not knowing this, have not started nursing classes yet) those long tubes that go in the nose....all on youtube

My nursing class actually has full access to Mosby's Nursing Skills website where we are instructed to watch all of the nursing skills for that week. It is an awesome website that has these "quick sheet" print-offs that give quick instructions to every type of nursing skill imaginable, and has example videos for every skill that goes step-by-step.

We obviously have free access, but I doubt it would be free for a public user. But I think its worth checking out to see how much it costs. I don't know the exact website because the website given to us is propietary for our school, but go to Google and type in Mosby's Nursing Skills and it should pop up.

some parts of it are a little outdated...but the concept is the same.

Try your books too! My books come with cd roms that have skills being done on them (perry and potter fundamentals of nursing)! We are lucky as well because our instructors at school have put skills on Itunes for us to access through our schools website. If your school doesn't offer that maybe you can suggest something like that. That really helped because we could watch exactly how they wanted the skill performed for check off's in lab!
