I have a non-nursing bachelor's degree and eventually would like to get an MSN, but I'm not sure which route is the best for me. I have a young child, so my concern with the Simmons program is that I would not be able to be a mom and a student in such an intense program. The LM program seems to be more geared toward older students with families. I also like the idea of being able to get my RN, then work to get some experience and then get my masters. Is there anyone who has done that with either program? About how long does the MSN at Regis take?
Also, I've heard conflicting things about being hired with an ASN vs an MSN. Some people have told me that ASN's are being hired, some say they aren't. I've heard that MSNs are having problems too, due to the economy. Are there any recent graduates of either program who can share their experiences in finding a job?
Thanks for any information.
