    what was the test like?
it was and it wasn't. actually performing the test on the computer was what i expected. very similar to the discs provided in my nclex review books. but the content was nothing like i expected. of course, i can't give specific information. when i left the testing center, i was seriously ill. i fully expected to throw up on their nice clean sidewalk. i sat outside by the bushes for about 20 min so that if i had to puke, i could do it quietly in a nice green bush, hidden from public view. :chuckle

    what are your plans now?
last december, i started working in a small hospital ER as a tech. i live in a small community that pretty close to a large city. i didn't want to drive into the city for a job plus i didn't want to have to fight 50 other graduating nurses for a position in "my" hospital. so the tech position fit me perfectly. i've been teching prn ever since and as of monday, i'll start there in the ER as a nurse. and i'm glad that i've done things the way i have because there have been 5 other applicants from school apply for the job that i have been given.

one of my friends had followed the same path as she started in march. so we took the only 2 graduate positions available in our ER. our hospital won't allow any more new blood because of the extended orientation that we will receive.

thanks again everyone. now i'm off to the hospital to finish up some paperwork and have my new badge made. "rena, rn" instead of "rena, tech"
