School with a surrendered license?

I have surrendered my license and can not practice nursing for 2 years due to an addiction. I would like to go back to school and complete what I originally set out to do and that is to get my bsn and be wound and is ostomy certified. Since I have the time to do it now.....does anyone know if I can attend an Rn-BSN program without an active license but education background? Not sure I've posted in the right area.

I'm not sure you can. I got my BSN from and you need an unencumbered license. All the local brick and mortar schools in my area all have the same requirement. I think you are going to have to wait.

The several BSN completion programs with which I'm familiar all require a valid, active license in order to be eligible. But, of course, your best bet would be to check directly with schools that interest you.

How could someone attend an RN to BSN program if not an RN? The valid license indicating RN status seems to be essential to that process.

Inquire with prelicensure BSN programs.

I don't know of any rn to bsn that won't require an active licence, but one thing you could do is take any general education classes that the bsn may require usually there are about 15 to 30 credits of general classes or electives you will need to take in addition to nursing classes. Best bet is to contact the programs you are looking at and ask about possibilities
